"Hello, I have visited this place approx weeks ago with my friend and had a very unpleasant experience. It was Sun afternoon and we entered to check the menu (there's no menu on display outside) and the first thing we were told was that...they prepare genuine Italian food and if we're looking for Austrian Italian cuisine there are several take aways down the street. A bit surprised, we sat down and were given a hand written menu, the only one in the entire restaurant. While my friend went to the toilet, the owner of the place started to scream on one of his staff, a young waiter, for something that he missed doing. Everyone remained silent and my friend got so scared that she left the toilet in a hurry to see if there's a serious incident. We were all starring at the mad guy in disbelief. And the rest of the lunch went in the same way, not to mention about the fact that we asked (hesitantly) times for the bread and were thrown some on the table by the insane person. Stay away, unless you like being badly mistreated on your own money. The guy is Italian and is probably dreply frustrated about something, i suggest him to see a doctor urgently!"

I heard from a friend about this place and I must say this is a true gem in Potsdam! Delicious high quality food, cozy atmosphere and an entertaining owner! Had a great time here...

Food was well cooked. Service sub standard and most definitely not customer orientated. Our waiter appeared detached and required frequent prompting by us I.e. Requesting salt and pepper. Food portions more on the small side.

We had an excellent dinner here, in a nice neighbourhood. Very good Italian cuisine and the wines they have ... top ! You get good advice, you can drink one or two glasses or a bottle, ... Taking into account the wine service : Zanotto...deserves a fifth star.

We found Zanotto near our hotel, Am Grossen Waisenhaus. It is truly a family restaurant and we were made to feel very welcome here. Our starter wasn’t exciting, a couple of scallops, but my husband had spaghetti alle vongole and I had tagliatelle with truffles,...with a shaving of truffles on top both were really very good, but I think his was better.

This totally charming restaurant with its cute terrace and authentic cooking is really excellent! Super hospitality from the owner /chef in this family run business. Appetizers are really delicious, wonderful fresh Vitello tonnato is amazing, sardines are equally good. Always a fresh fish , homemade...pasta or excellent steak .... served with care and attention to detail. Superb selection of wine , for all tastes and budget. Will definitely be coming regularly....

Having intentionally walked past many run of the mill but obviously popular eateries we were despairing of finding a more authentic and eclectic place for lunch. Then we saw an option off the main drag. Gazpacho was wonderfully fresh and zesty with home made bread.. salad of pomodori and buffalo mozzarella was the best I have ever had tagliatelle with porcine was awesome glass of sicilian wine was spot on patron has infectious enthusiasm worth a detour and abandoning any plans for later. A real gem.
