"Went here on a Sunday afternoon with my sister and found a relatively quiet Turkish/Syrian/Iraqi restaurant. The menu was mainly Turkish with a couple of Iraqi additions but I didn't notice anything with a note that said from Syria but that may well have been an oversight on my part. We ordered two starters to arrive at the table with the two main courses. I ordered the Zengi special' Haleb Kibbeh which is apparently a Baghdadi dish and my sister ordered the grilled Halumi with sala. For mains my sister ordered the chicken shish and I ordered Arbil Kofta Shish Kebab a lightly spiced lamb mincemeat kebab which was another Iraqi dish. The food came together as requested and was all...read more"

really nice restaurant. we fought to find vegan food in the opposite, and this restaurant was perfect for us. They offered a fantastic customer service to change items for us when needed.

After reading rave reviews by Time Out a couple of weeks ago, Dr G and I decided to visit this newly opened Turkish/Iraq restaurant on Commercial Street, I normally go to Green Lanes, particularly “Antepliler” for my fix of Turkish food, but we were c

Usually go here for sheesha as it's really close by. Never really tried the food, but from the looks of it, it looks good. The sheesha is not amazing, but for the price it's justified. The service varies from being very good to being inattentive. It's a nice place to go just for some quick sheesha and Moroccan tea with friends.

Awful, terrible service!. Hi went here on as a party of people (prebooked in advance) after hr mins with no food and only water when asked several times, we were forced to abandon the place. Complete shambles, people waiting for ages screaming for food and one person served deep frozen pitta bread with hummus. Basil Fawlty does Persia

I often find myself torn between two versions of me. a half is extremely proactic, quite restless and always wants to go out, see everything, explore new things. this part of my personality is all “I can sleep when I am dead!” “I’m too early to live in london – why don’t I dance on a table now?” or “Why wasn’t I at the restaurant [a volatile culinary fad here]? I don't live! ‘

we only dived for a little afternoon snack where I ordered the chicken wings from the hot Mezze menu. they were fantastic. three whole wings (both drum and flat) for quid. in a mild paprika chased with dry ruby and grilled for perfection over charcoal. smokey and succulent. the court was erdizzed with a small crushed iceberg, gurke, tomato and petersilie, with granatapfel melasse vinaigrette. impressive love to detail for a humble little court. the service was fast.
