"Wow. I have eaten at 30+ Thai restaurants in the UK and this is now my absolute favourite. My husband and I lived in Bangkok for a number of years, so finding “authentic” Thai food is a way to stay connected to that time in our life. Not only is the food outstanding, but the owners are true restaurateurs. They glide around that place, giving everyone little bits of personal attention, which makes the whole experience perfect. It is no wonder they ask you to book weeks in advance. Star highlights for me after our first visit: Moo grawbp crispy pork with the most delicious sweet/sour dip. Pad see eew they actually use fresh wide rice noodles (no pad Thai rice sticks or mama noodles in sight). They also managed when it was busy, to cook a “Thai egg” (Kai daow) to go on top. On a weekend they even do Kanom Thuay which are delicious little bowls of coconutty pandaan goodness. I feel so lucky to live within driving distance of ZenThai. Cannot wait to go back. Side note the loos are pristine which always makes me feel happy. My husband and I absolutely loved this restaurant! We made a last-minute reservation and were fortunate enough to get a table on a Saturday night. The staff was incredibly accommodating and found a way to fit us in. From the moment we entered until we left, the service was outstanding. And the food—wow! It was the best Thai cuisine we've ever had in the UK (and we've dined at many places). The owner also took the time to interact with guests, which added to the warm atmosphere of the place. We can't wait to return the next time we're in Cheddar. Thank you so much! xxx Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

"We live just down the road from Axbridge and popped in for dinner as we had heard good things about this place. The first thing that is difficult is parking! There are restrictions everywhere for 24 hours a day as far as we could tell. Of course, that is not the fault of the restaurant but it does contribute to one 's enjoyment of an evening.Anyway, the restaurant and bar area are very nicely decorated, warm and welcoming. we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady and had a drink at the bar first. very chatty and friendly woman behind the bar too.On being seated at the restaurant, we had a tasty amuse bouche and drinks (decent wine list .The menu is good. There were at least three things on there that I could have ordered on the spot! Traditional British style choices, very nice. However, I could not justify paying £30 for an 8oz fillet of beef with some sauce!!I had the pigeon starter, which was very nicely cooked, pink all the way through and tender as well (water bath, maybe? . However, when it arrived at the table it was all quite cold as if it had been sitting for a while before being brought out. My wife had the soup, which was home made and she said it was good.We both went for the pork belly main course, and both agreed that it was rather dry. There was nice crackling and all the potatoes and veg were nicely cooked, but the actual pork meat was not unctuous with reduced fat. All in all, good service, nice place but the kitchen was not on top form that night. We would give them another chance however, this meal was 'average ', not 'poor '."

"I did visit here based on the good reviews I had read. However, I was very disappointed by what I was offered the service. I was visiting the area on a trip to cheddar gorge popped in here to grab a quick fulfilling breakfast before heading off for a day of adventure. I was one of the first into the restaurant and I greeted the waitress on shift but was not greeted with a particularly warm welcome. I ordered a vegetarian breakfast which was overpriced and greasy. Being the only place open for breakfast at that time, there is an opportunity to really own the space with no competition at that time, but I was left regretting my decision with x2 1 3rds of a pepper fried in oil, potatoes fried in oil, sausages, egg and mushrooms which I’m sure could (and probably were) all fried in one pan. I couldn’t finish it all because of the amount of grease I can’t say that I have experienced this, however I feel the feel, taste and presentation of the food was what I would expect if I was a trucker passing a rest stop and the food was more for convenience than passion for food. I had a glass of orange juice and an oat milk latte which was pleasant and tasted fresher than the rest of the breakfast. The toilet is a little strange too, being a male female baby changing which I can understand have no issue with. However, it was not well kept or finished and looked again like something you would find on a rest stop in America on a longer route highway where there is no competition and through necessity would be chosen to attend. It’s a shame, I would love to commend this place, but the only thing I can say is the coffee was nice the cakes looked tasty. But other than that, cheap food prepared with little care quality of presentation and very expensive for what you get. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for nice food, there are plenty of other places that open an hour later (which are worth it when combined with the quality of the food vs convenience)."
