Zero Sushi Harpenden

I am thrilled that this restaurant is in Harpenden. The food is excellent, the service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend trying the chicken katsu curry!

Honestly the best sushi I've had outside of Japan and in the UK. Sashimi is just melt in your mouth and everything tastes so fresh. And its only 15 mins from my home. Bonus!

we had the amazing plate for my men birthday lunch and wow! what an absolute tasty bite. the fish was exquisite quality perfectly made and presented sushi and sashimi. can not wait to go back! Ver carta

I love this sushi. the freshest salmon and very sweet shop. chicken catsu is amazing. in any case recommend this shop. not much seating opportunity img, but outside has a few tables, but otherwise, five stars

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this restaurant. As a sushi enthusiast who recently moved to the area, I had high hopes for this place. However, the quality of the sashimi did not meet my standards. The salmon was overly fatty and chewy, making it a disappointing experience. Perhaps this was just a one-time occurrence, but it was not a hit for me.

We have had a number of the Sushi platters since Zero reopened, they have all been superb made with the freshest of ingredients they even taste good the next day when we haven’t been able to finish them on the day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends or family and will definitely have again in fact we have one on order to collect The covid precautions are well thought out and easy to deal with Ver carta

First time that we ordered food from this place and I am not sure will do it again. Although I preordered the food 3 hours prior to the collection they kept me waiting for 10 min outside the shop as the order wasn’t ready. The sushi was ok, pretty average. They also forgot to give me the bottle of water that I paid for and was a part of the hot meal. The customer service needs improvement and I also think it is not a good value for money.

Even though I preordered online, I still had to wait in line to be informed that my hot food wasn't ready yet, and then wait in line again to see if it was done. The staff showed a lack of initiative and subpar customer service skills. When my order was finally given to me, no condiments were offered. This experience was consistent with previous visits. It's disappointing, especially considering the price; the quality just doesn't measure up.

1) Food Quality (5/5) The sushi/sashimi is very high quality; the fish is fresh, buttery rich and served at the correct temperature. Hot food is delicious; katsu sauce is perfectly spiced; teriyaki sauce a tad too potent but great if spread out 2) Food Range (4/5) Range acceptable. Hot food could be expanded slightly for interest e.g. to include noodles. Ready to go sushi in the fridge usually quite limited so need to order bespoke, which takes time 3) Service (2/5) Staff are a little aloof, sullen even, which seems to stem from the management down.
