"Zizzi is a chain so you do know what you are getting from one city to the next. The Cardiff branch (St Mary's appears small from the outside but is tardis like and spacious with high ceilings and contemporary decor. We went in firstly as a larger group which the restaurant coped very well with. Our larger table (30+ were broken up into smaller tables for ordering so this made bills easier to work out and staff realising we were there for work, ensured they were able to provide multiple receipts. Food is good the spicy sausage pasta was lovely with a real kick to it. Special menu's are available for different dietary requirements (I found them confusing at first so probably better to read side by side with the normal menu as the special menu is icons, rather then descriptions . I was able to get gf pasta my first trip, the pasta was cooked well but less so on the return trip, where I was underwhelmed by my pasta and also sauce. Portions are generous food is ok (better at other times but depends on what you order but for a chain it is reasonable."

I haven't eaten at Zizzi for a while, because last time it all turned into a bit of a drama.

This is a restaurant that you can take your other half to and have a nice time. The high ceilings and smart contemporary but warm decor help smooth things along as you watch the chefs working their wood burning oven. I've been here 3 times and the service has been good the atmosphere convivial and the food tasty. If you can sit along the wall so you can people watch and guess which couples are on a first date. The only problem is parking as St Mary Street in now a pedestrianised so in the day you may have to pay for parking.

We went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration and had an absolutely wonderful time. The friendly server greeted us and seated us at our table, accommodating our group's delayed arrival without any issue. They took our drink orders and allowed us ample time before returning to take our food orders, showing attentiveness to our conversations and not rushing us. The food was delicious and I would definitely return for another birthday celebration. However, if you are looking for more adventurous cuisine, you may want to try a different restaurant as this one is more traditional.

I do like to keep on it's toes and thought this would be a good place to make it sweat a little. Zizzi looks beautiful from the outside and very swish, the lovely and I went here the other weekend for an early dinner and was very surprised at the cost, it wasn't bad at all. Very similar to the likes of Jamie's (Oliver's, not mine) restaurant. Served by a very well mannered waiter I ordered the calamari, with salad. Absolutely delightful I may add. The spices and drizzle they added to the salad alone made my taste buds stand on end. We decided to have a glass of wine afterwards and just had an amazingly relaxed drink within the confides of the beautiful decor.

I haven't eaten at Zizzi for a while, because last time it all turned into a bit of a drama. After asking about the pasta sauce on a particular dish, I went ahead and ordered it only to find that the answer I'd been given was completely wrong! When I caught our waiter's attention and told him this, however, he was pretty decent and apologetic about it but of course my dish had to be sent back and remade, which left me foodless while my companions wolfed away rather than let their meal go cold. My food, once it was sorted, was very tasty, and my friends also enjoyed their meals, so I don't want to rate this place too poorly on the basis of one error. It is also in a great building, with well...

This Italian restaurant located on Albany Road is a charming and cozy spot with delicious food at very affordable prices. Despite being situated in a local area, it exudes a classy vibe akin to a five-star establishment. The menu offers rich and upscale dishes that are surprisingly budget-friendly, making it a must-visit for tourists looking for a great deal. The pizzas are particularly noteworthy with generous portions. A two-course meal for three people cost around £30, making it a great value for money. It's a perfect spot for couples and families looking for a romantic or peaceful dining experience. The restaurant also offers birthday celebrations, complete with a small cake and candle f...

Anyone who has taken an even cursory wander through my reviews knows I don 't have a good relationship with chain restaurants. I find that all of them suffer from either a soulless, blank atmosphere that seems entirely utilitarian, designed to evoke as little emotion in the clientele as possible, or they are filled with so much tacky, vaguely ethnic rubbish that screams LOCALE! that you feel like you 're eating a meal in a cartoon. Zizzi 's is a case of the former, but manages to wrangle back some points by making the food pretty excellent. One of the worst things about Italian food is also its saving grace; Italian food is hard to make unique. Pasta is just pasta, and there 's only so many...

"cafe citta is a tiny little restaurant that is worn away and is very inconspicuous. if they have not made extensive food research, they might miss it at the end because it looks impressing from the outside. I recommend to them however to go an effort because if they are looking for authentic Italian food in cardiff, cafe citta should definitely do on their list! atmosphere: it is a very small restaurant with barely walking. the tables are small and crampy, so when they come with more than 3 people, I recommend to them a booking well in advance. but despite being small, the decoration is really charming. it felt more like going into someone's living room than a real restaurant! there were flowers each table with beautiful wooden tables, whose table legs were decorated in very ornate style, and cool paintings on the wall as well! customer service: excellent, could not be better. not only the personal friendly, but they were also very attentive and made sure that our table was well clarified without having to say anything at all! Food: that was excellent. as an appetizer we had the caprese, which was fresh buffalo mozzarella with a beautiful sauce and fresh tomato. the mozzarella was fantastic and really very fresh. we also ordered the polenta al ragu and the bolognese soße, which accompanied the polnta was fantastic! for a pornstar, I ordered the pollo alla romana, which was a whole chicken breast with sage, parma ham, and a side of kartoffel and salat boiled. we also had a garlic pizza to share. they gave us chili oil and parmesan on the side for extra spices. everything was great! I am usually not too excited to order chicken breast in a restaurant, but it was extremely juicy I didn't know that chicken breast could be so tender! there were great aromas everywhere. the only negatiw is that I recommend to give them the garlic pizza. it was quite bland and needed half a quantity of chili oil and parmesan to save it. overall I recommend cafe citta. next time, I would try one of her pasta dishes, how my partner swept over his tagliatelle carbonara!"
