"a very big disappointment: we went in two people to ask if there was a table and, at the same time as we, two Germans entered, who, like us, had not booked. the waiter was really aggressive and rude, being literally annoyed by us and...I swear we turned to him with extreme kindness. we then asked if it was possible to book for the next day but the waiter, without even looking at a booking sheet, violently denied this possibility. I felt really bad. accompanied to the door, the two Germans entered with us, never left. he didn't want us there. maybe because we are Italian? don't go there, there are other restaurants on the same level (or higher) and friendly"

We had a very good dinner. Portions are very large. Typical German cuisine. Potato soup with sausages very tasty, good schnitzel, chicken is very tender. Good service.

Don't come.... The place is very nice, with a very good garden in a quiet zone of the city. However, the service is terrible....we waited more than minutes for the food and the waiter was very rude. To sum up, the place needs a...new manager to use this space as it should be. A very sad experience...

The food is delicious, the staff very friendly. The portions are good value for money. For one of my guest the portion was even to much so we ask for take-away the rest. Strangely we had to pay for the box…. never experienced like that...before. Very odd…. at least the waiter should inform in advance , or maybe I’m not yet used that in Germany you have to pay for everything.

If you want an authentic experience of a hunting lodge with traditional cuisine this is it! It is the favourite of some Dresden friends and no. one on my AirBnB host's recommendations. I had a fantastic venison stew, my daughter had pike-perch (zander) and my...wife schnitzel. All were fantastic. Staff are efficient and friendly. Excellent local beers. If in Dresden do not miss!! I knew nothing about this restaurant. It was close to the hotel; I passed it on a walk and liked is look. I found the staff friendly and helpful albeit more focused on the diners in the garden. The portions were large: one dinner would...probably satisfy two moderate eaters. We tried both the local wine and beer: I preferred the second. The Saxon menu offered interesting items and we enjoyed all we tried.

Went there during the 'Spargelzeit' (asparagus season), ignoring places of similar ratings in the old town because I could confirm online that they serve the seasonal asparagus. We had of the basic asparagus dishes (with Hollandaise, no meat add-on), plus the Freischützplatte (basically a...meat platter). Both hit the spot. The asparagus was on par and the meat plate came with beans with were so well caramelized and delicious.

This is not only a really authentic Saxon restaurant, but it has a great choice. As the title suggests I had the Käsespätzle and it was amazing! I’ve had a lot in my time and all I can say is wow! The addition of some...blue cheese in it just made it. Great servers, all really friendly and speak English if you don’t speak German. Really cute little pot jugs for drinking wine, all in all just fabulous! Beware the riesenschnitzle really is that! Never seen one so big! Ver carta

I arrived at on a Wednesday, didn't book and was apparently lucky to get a single seat at the bar for dinner. The two young ladies who were taking orders and serving seemed incredibly bored and disrespectful to everyone. Overheard from English-speaking tourists...who arrived after me: Tourist: Is there a table for Waitress: Table for (stare absentmindedly at a sheet of paper for seconds) Tourist: Looks like it's a No? Waitress: No. Not a single word wasted! Food is solid and meaty. Nice decor. But won't revisit next time I'm in Dresden.

This is only my Trip Advisor review my first negative one. “Zum Schiesshaus” came highly recommended. However we never got to eat there, and will never return as the staff downstairs, but in particular one guy upstairs were beyond rude, and so unwelcoming,...to these Irish guys who are huge fans of Dresden City. Sorry “Zum Schiesshaus” you need to make people feel welcome, not turn them off forever. Would never want to repeat this experience, would never recommend this place, will never be back. I know you’re A popular busy place, but there is no excuse for this rudeness. Goodbye!
