"We've had home deliveries from this establishment for quite some time now but this was the first order for a while.When I telephoned I asked for the meal for two at £27 to be delivered at 7.00 and gave the chap my address and postcode.As my wife wanted a dish she hadn't had before I asked for more information..he confirmed that both dishes were of medium heat. At 6.20 my intercom buzzed,it was a neighbour..the delivery had an address but no name.I told the guy that I wasn't happy but accepted delivery.When I looked at the food my wife's curry looked like a Korma(it was supposed to be a Special Matta)and was very bland..she refused to eat anymore as she said it was more like sweet custard!. After our meal(we shared my curry which was nothing special but ok) I called to voice my disappointment and the issues I'd had.The chap I spoke to was very apologetic but said they were too busy to do anything at the moment but he was keen get the owner(he was the guy who took the order)to telephone me to apologize and see how they could make amends...my phone has yet to ring. Don't know how this poor food and service has happened but,at the moment,I have no plans to give him my business again."

"had an absolutely beautiful meal here tonight. the restaurant is beautiful, the service of the staff was amazing. the food was first great. However, the owner manager let down the whole evening by asking us to go because one of our party was apparently “ drunk ”. this was after we bottle of moët champagner to buy happy to take our money, then because of the table next to us, the clearly drunk house wine complains after we have ordered each time we have another bottle. we were not drunk, we ate well, we had a nice evening, but it would seem that the restaurant would like to serve them champagner, then they take the opinion of the table next to us. Many thanks for a wonderful meal and compliments to the chef and thank them for their attentive waiting staff. pity about the owner is sad that he only thought it necessary to say something after we had spent our money"

"This restaurant never fails! It is an amazing place for dinner and one of my all time favourite places to eat in Aberdeen. It was my boyfriend's birthday and the restaurant went above and beyond with their service, hospitality and extras without being asked. The food is of an excellent standard and I am impressed consistently after every visit. The staff are super friendly and accommodating and the service is excellent. Highly recommend!"

"Best beer in Aberdeen. Lacks food but order in or pop round the corner to Brewdog to get a burger and then come straight back for those post dinner beers. Did I say best beers in Aberdeen... nah... Scotland... maybe even UK. If you love tasty and unusual beer do yourself a favour and make sure you visit... And stay a while. And leave slightly wobbly as they tend to be strong."

"favourite place in Aberdeen. From coffee to their food, you have the best quality for it all. Fully vegan and just top quality. Cannot recommend enough. My favourite is their focaccia sandwiches, I could eat 10 of them and not get enough. Their pancakes are also heavenly and their cinnamon buns could cause fights over the last one. 20/10 always"

"During a recent trip to Aberdeen to attend a family funeral, we decided to order takeaway on the recommendation of our rental property host. I specifically requested chicken pakora, but when I opened the container, I was surprised to find what appeared to be halloumi fries instead. The dish lacked the expected red color, and the taste and texture were bland. After trying one strip of chicken pakora, I returned the rest to the container. Additionally, there was no pakora sauce included, which was odd. I do not plan on returning to Aberdeen, so luckily I won't have to endure this disappointing meal again. Unfortunately, the rest of the order was equally unsatisfactory. My family also plans to leave a negative review."

"Food trying to be Cordon Bleu but falls short of the mark. Special starter was a salmon roulade but frankly was a blob of smoked salmon and unidentifiable creamy stuff and poorly presented on the plate. I also had the special for main course sole in a sauce with sliced fried potatoes and scallops. The sole and sauce were tepid and the lack of accompanying veg made it uninteresting and certainly not worth the price tag. Decor and service quite good however."

"It's been quite a few years since last in Poldino's and we'll be back quicker next time. The staff were both friendly and very professional We had starters of Calamari Homemade chicken liver pate. The Calamari was nice I would have it again, but the coating was a little soft for me. My partner Had the Paté which was really nice, but she was not impressed with the paper thin flat breads. Crusty bread or toast would have been preferred, but she still enjoyed it. We had a side of BRUSCHETTA which was nice. Mains Were the BISTECCA ALLA GRIGLIA which was Sirloin Steak Asparagus, 1/2 tomato with Roast Veg Potatoes.And SALMONE DELLA CASA which was Salmon fillet in a cream, smoked salmon dill sauce with roat veg potatoes. The steak was terrific. We both thought the roast Veg of Carrots Courgette was very nice they worked well with the steak and also the Salmon dish. We were both full after the 2 courses we could not manage a Desert so well done for that. Recommended"

"We've been visiting pasta plus for years now and it is our FAVOURITE place to eat out in Aberdeen. You won't get nicer or more authentic Italian food in Aberdeen. This lil spot in Rosemount is a hidden gem that is a MUST try. The smaller space and more rustic deli look only adds to its charm. We've been here as a couple, taken family, for special occasions and it's always a spot we bring friends who are visiting Aberdeen too. We've never been disappointed and you will always get attentive service and delicious food. A special shout out to Chris who is always so welcoming and accommodating. The bruschetta caprese salad starters are firm favourites of ours and probably the tastiest we've ever had of each dish (including ones we've had in Italy). Anything us or our guests have tried has always gone down well with a special shout out to the specials board with some incredible pasta dishes that are seasoned to perfection. It would be a crime to not end the meal with the delicious homemade Tiramisu (and perhaps a lil Limoncello) which is absolutely divine and something we often also pick up as a takeaway to enjoy at home too when we walk past and the moment strikes. A lil added bonus is being able to take your own bottle with just a small corkage fee but they do offer a nice selection of drinks that can be purchased directly. Always kept nice and chilled. These small indie, family run businesses are so few and far between in Aberdeen so we truly are lucky to have such a fantastic offering nearby. I urge anyone reading to consider a visit here instead of the bigger chains. You will not be disappointed."

"Even though my husband and parents are locals, we decided to try The Silver Darling based on recommendations from friends. If you're looking for a restaurant for a special occasion, this is the place to go. The location, which we kept as a surprise, was breathtaking with amazing views even on a windy spring afternoon. When we arrived, my father-in-law mentioned he had been wanting to dine here for a while but could never get a reservation. Thankfully, we were able to secure a table and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was packed on a Friday lunchtime, which was a good sign of its popularity. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our special lunch even better. The menu had a great selection with something for everyone. The food was absolutely amazing, and I could go on and on about how fantastic it was. I highly recommend trying the hand-cut chips that came with the fish dish – they were the best chips I've ever had. We will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone at The Silver Darling for an unforgettable dining experience."

"We love Ma Cameron's. Good food, polite service with a smile. Muzac just as we like it almost inaudible where we sat though we prefer total silence so we can hear the music of our conversation. I find the normal sized fish and chips quite sufficient but my wife dared me to try the large version little did I know there was method in the madness. When it arrived she took half a fish away to supplement her smaller steak sandwich."

"Needless to say, this pub has wonderful variety of IPAs. However, what I was surprised is their pizzas. I ordered raffle truffle pizza, and the quality of dough was exceptional and never expected this level of pizza in beer pubs! "Wow! My experience at this restaurant was more than just a simple lunch - it was a friendly and delicious experience from start to finish. The staff worked seamlessly together, providing quick and efficient service in a charming setting with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces. They were able to help me with travel and local information promptly, making me feel like I was at the heart of Old Aberdeen where everyone is treated like a special guest. The soup of the day, a unique blend of broccoli, spinach, and peas, was offered in half portions and paired perfectly with their artisan bread and indulgent scones. The cheesecakes looked tempting, but I was already quite satisfied with my meal. It was clear from the happy customers around me that I wasn't the only one impressed by this restaurant. I'm already looking forward to returning with my friends in the near future."

"Tried this takeaway for the first time and wish I haven't I ordered the Special Fried rice dish with a Curry sauce. When I tasted this dish, the rice was soggy with very little ingredients you normally associate with Special rice dishes. There was a lot of luncheon meat which I never tasted in a rice dish before. In all there was two Prawns in the whole dish which was the size of your thumbnail. The meat you normally get at the top of the dish was tough and not very appetising. I will say the Curry sauce was quite good, but...this was the smallest portion I have experienced when ordering a take away. Don't think I will this takeaway again."

"The food, once it arrived, was hit and miss. The beef, for which we paid a supplement, was reportedly brilliant, while the turkey was said to be lovely and came in a huge portion. However, the vegetarian option of celeriac was not as exciting, with a gungy sauce and lack of accompanying trimmings. The puddings were all enjoyable. Although the staff were friendly, it seemed they lacked proper training. Some were unaware of what they were serving, and the service for distributing coffee and tea was haphazard. As a former waitress, I understand the challenges of serving older, hard of hearing, and large groups with alcohol. However, as a non-drinker in the group, I felt that attention to detail was lacking. Overall, it wasn't the worst service or meal I have experienced, but there is definitely room for improvement. I have written this review as constructive criticism, in the hope that the lovely and smiling staff will continue to improve."

"I won a Facebook contest to try this fantastic pop-up street eatery. Since we couldn't find a babysitter, we asked if we could take our food to go, and I'm so glad we didn’t miss out! The food was incredible. The "Mutter Clucker" was so delicious, and the coleslaw was brilliant. My husband loved his "Power Mac," and our sides were fantastic too. I definitely recommend checking this place out this weekend, whether you choose to dine in or take out!"

"After a long drive through flooded roads, we arrived in Aberdeen and were in search of a place to eat. We stumbled upon Al Fresco and were greeted with the warmest welcome we have ever experienced! Despite the busy atmosphere, we were seated promptly at a table for two and received excellent service and delicious food. The specials board was explained to us with a hint of humor, and every member of the staff was friendly. The food was outstanding, and we even received complimentary Limoncellos at the end of our meal. Although I don't often leave reviews on Tripadvisor, I felt compelled to share our positive experience at this restaurant. I highly recommend giving it a try - after dining in restaurants across Europe, Al Fresco truly stands out as one of the best."

"My daughter and son in law had pre booked here for our family Christmas dinner. We had paid and pre ordered weeks before so there was no excuse for what was to follow. It started well and our drinks order was taken just after we sat down. However at no time were we told that the starters would be nearly 90 mins before they would arrive. After an hour I complained and was comped some drinks. The starters arrived and were eaten but then, nothing. Still waiting for the main course which eventually turned up 2 and 1/4 hours after we’d sat down. In the meantime my daughter had to leave and go home with her 2 small children as they were so hungry. Their Christmas dinner ended up being pasta. When the meal finally arrived not only did it look unappetising it was inedible. I complained again only to be told by a member of staff that he’d given up his Christmas to work and that I shouldn’t be complaining. I kept asking to see the manager but I was constantly told she was unavailable because she was cooking. I did finally get to speak to the manager and I asked her if she thought this was acceptable and how would she react if it were her family. She tried to defend indefensible and when she couldn’t she stormed off. Another group heard her say “get him out” I felt so sorry for my daughter who was crying when we got home. This was not her fault at all. We did eventually get a full refund. It reinforces that old adage. You get what you pay for. Ergo we paid nothing and got nothing!"

"sat for lunch, check the menu online before booking. the person I had chosen the venue was based on the menu as they wanted either a steak or a few venison, and both were on a menu on the website...titled lunch/dinner'. at the arrival, after the covid briefing, we were led to a table that had been clarified after the departure of the previous diner, but it had not been cleaned, and we had to ask someone to clean. the person I was fed with about Steak/Venison was informed that they were only available in the evening for dinner, not to lunch. we asked ourselves why they were shown on the website as available for both. the lady waiting for us went away to check and came back to say that they would do it, but it would be pan roasted and not grilled, as the grill was not on. that was acceptable to my dining room friend. I had quenched what came with the fish cake ie chips, etc. and was told only salat. I ordered it with an additional page of chips. when the food arrived, the steak was excellent. my esszimmerpartner has traveled worldwide and has been back in jail for some years. he said it was the best steak he had anywhere in the opposite, if not all the uk. However, the fish cake was another fish vessel (from the point). a large dinner dish came with a fish cake, a half lemon and a spoon of green sticks. I wasn't familiar with saphir before, but I'm sure now. the waitress had told me that the fish cake came with salat, so I expected salat, tomato, etc. instead I got a spoon of what I suspect was steamed saphir. I found it not possible, though I tried to chew it. So that would have left me with a fish cake that would certainly not be worth shy only, was glad that I had ordered a side of chips. the total bill for these dishes, a pint coks, glittering waters and a coffee was over while there was a steak in the mix, it seems excessive, especially taking into account what was intended for the fish cake meal. I have dined a lot of paints here in the past, and always thought it on the slightly pricy side, but the quality of food and the portion sizes were a little for the higher prices. therefore this visit was inevitable. it was a shame when the steak was good."
