Kilau - Menú

We visited this restaurant for breakfast on Saturday. I decided to try the vegan breakfast for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it.

So many places don't know what's in their food. These guys have it nailed and a lovely helpful attitude. Oh, and the coffee rates ten as well

On my first visit to Aberdeen, came across this cute little café which has the most welcoming team. Coffee was outstanding, cliché but I have not had better. Surrounding area is quaint, near University of Aberdeen.

Wonderful cafe. Excellent coffee, delicious food we had the vegan breakfast the sweet potato crepe the best cheesecake I've ever tasted. Sat in the sunshine in harming courtyard garden. Friendly efficient service. Highly recommended.

Ever since my friends and I started university in 2019, we have been frequenting Kilau. We love it so much that our family has also started visiting. The staff are always friendly and the food is consistently delicious. Personally, I enjoy the soup of the day and the cheesecakes are the best I've ever had.

Had my first visit to Kilau Coffee yesterday. We trudged there in horrible, snowy conditions and I was hoping it was worth it tbh ..... It was! I felt welcomed and looked after. Lovely coffee (and I’m very picky) and tempting choice of breakfast/brunch items, gorgeous scones and cakes. Different dietary requirements are clearly marked. As we left to go back into snowy Old Aberdeen, a long line of people were making their way in to have lunch. I would have loved to stay longer but there’s always the next time.

Wow! My experience at this restaurant was more than just a simple lunch - it was a friendly and delicious experience from start to finish. The staff worked seamlessly together, providing quick and efficient service in a charming setting with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces. They were able to help me with travel and local information promptly, making me feel like I was at the heart of Old Aberdeen where everyone is treated like a special guest. The soup of the day, a unique blend of broccoli, spinach, and peas, was offered in half portions and paired perfectly with their artisan bread and indulgent scones. I love my coffee, and my Gaggia is the one piece of kitchen equipment I would miss most. The best coffee in my experience, has always been in Italy, and Italians would be incensed, if standards slipped in their country. Sadly, the autostrada chains, eg Autogrill, have already broken through the €1 barrier for a caffe (espresso). So much of the so-called coffee revolution in the UK over the last couple of decades, has been due to the rise of the ubiquitous and poor quality coffee chain, none of whom have got anywhere near the Italian gold standard, and charge outrageously high prices for dreadful coffee, presumably to cover their rent and overheads, but more pertinently, because they cater fo...

Being a student at Aberdeen University, it's hard to be on campus without popping in to Kilau for a coffee. They're the best coffee shop in Aberdeen! The sandwich shop downstairs is open Mon Fri and offers a huge selection of baguettes, wraps and salads all made fresh, absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for students. The vegan pesto on sourdough is a go to for me so, so tasty. Homemade soup and fresh cheese scones are also made each morning too YUM. They also have a selection of cakes, pastries and bakes don't even get me started on the white choc and raspberry brownie (GF)... it's quite possibly the best brownie I've ever eaten.
