"Last night was seriously disappointing at Lucia’s Beverley. We’d booked a table for 8 to celebrate 3 birthdays and were looking forward to some great food, atmosphere and company among friends in a vibrant restaurant on a Saturday night. We got seated in a cosy area of the indoor part and began to enjoy our night. After eating our mains we were approached by a bouncer/door man, who came over to our table and told to to keep our voices down!!! Bearing in mind we were a party of 8, it was a Saturday night in what’s know as a vibrant lively restaurant in the centre of town and we weren’t shouting or using bad language. This absolutely RUINED our night. Who wants to be told this while having a good night eating dinner among friends? After spending a fair amount of money on bottles of Prosecco, other drinks, starters and very average tasting mains we were made to feel like naughty school kids in the corner (despite us all being in our 40s). We have never felt so offended! The comment from a bouncer (not even a friendly waitress), was absolutely uncalled for. There was an older couple on a table next to us (who we can only assume we’re the ones who complained about our high spirits) to warrant this over the top and completely unnecessary telling off. We had planned on staying in Lucia’s for more drinks and desserts but quickly vacated to another venue after the lucia fun police showed up. A shame for the restaurant in times of economic hardship as the table wouldn’t have been filled after we left since it was around 9.30pm. Given the food was disappointing too, we have all decided we won’t be back to this restaurant any time soon."

"I have left a full review on Trip Advisor which the Manager has responded to. He has basically called me a liar which is disrespectful. I expect a full apology. We booked weeks in advance. We arrived to find a very loud live band playing in the bar at 18:30 on a Sunday night. It took us a while to get some attention from the staff who were rushing around. Our allocated table for 4 was directly in front of the bar been used for storage of spare menus and cutlery etc. And had not been prepared. We asked for a quiet table to enable us to chat (i.e. this was a family reunion not a night out to see a band. We were shown to what the waitress described as the snug which was equally noisy as it was open plan to the bar where the band were playing. (NB the manager denies it 's existence! We asked if we could sit upstairs, we had already observed people dining upstairs. We were told it was closed when we pointed out the fact that others were up there and we were going to leave to find another restaurant the waitress went to consult with her supervisor and then told us we could sit upstairs so we decided to stay. (NB the manager has denied that this area upstairs was open! When we got upstairs it was clear that the diners there were part of one large family group celebrating a birthday. We double checked that it wasn 't a private function and we took a table in a corner away from the party. Food was luke warm and mediocre. Wine glasses were dirty. We had one course and left to go elsewhere. Not recommended."

"Having eaten McDonalds for over 40 years, I believe I 'm 'experienced ' enough to give a fair review. Beverley franchise: Very disappointing, and totally unacceptable. This McD franchise in Beverley (Beech restaurants) should be taken off the current owners whom it would appear are not fit to run such a company. I personally own a number of companies, that operate world wide and I believe I know what I 'm talking about. Myself and my fiance, visited yesterday evening, to eat indoors. After ordering and receiving our food, we looked around for somewhere to sit. The place was nearly empty, it was 21.25hrs. There was one area with clean tables however, a notice stated that the area was reserved for Uber drivers only. The majority of other tables that were accessible, were cluttered with food waste and wrappers. As we took our seats at a table (which had less trash just some desert containers) it became immediately evident that my fries were barely warm. I immediately retuned to the counter, and asked for some warm ones. I politely thanked the young lady whom replaced them only to take my seat, and find they were just the same barely warm. My Big Mac was the same, as was my fiances meal. I was very hungry, so attempted to eat the cold meal, although it was too cold to enjoy, so I left half of it. Before leaving, I spoke with someone (whom appeared to be in a management role) and asked if there was a technical problem, responsible for the cold food. He stated that there wasn 't. He politely apologised and offered more food, including 'some *more* deserts '! We hadn 't had any deserts and he was obviously assuming from seeing the empty containers, left by a previous patron. I declined the offer, and said it was more important to me, that in future, the food would be warmer for me and other visitors. He assured me that it normally is but looking at other reviews, it looks like he 's a real Walter Mitty living in some dream world. This is totally unacceptable. I know the state of mess is largely due to the selfish visitors not clearing away their own mees but as it was so quiet, and with a couple of staff appearing to be doing little, it wouldn 't have taken too much to clear up. I feel it would have been more appropriate, to have been offered a partial refund (as I had left half my Big Mac despite being hungry) or to have been offered a voucher, to redeem on a future occasion. To be expected to pay for a hot meal, which was barely warm is in breach of trading standard laws and I will be contacting ERYC Trading Standards Department. Having been assured that our barely warm meals was a 'one off ', and then discovering from reviews that this is not the case I can honestly state that if you are considering where to eat this place is too much of a gamble, unless you don 't mind luke warm cold food which is supposed to be hot."
