"Our first night in Biarritz and we just walked to the "Les Halles" area for dinner - lots of choices but most places were full outside by 8:30pm. Cafe Jean is at the end of what I would call restaurant way, its nice - the meals looked great on peoples plates so we decided to give it a try. Not knowing much French we "winged" it and got the specials - Fish for two and the kids split a steak. The fish was EXCELLENT. The steak was OK - tons of seasoning, cooked just right, but a borderline curt of meat. Not a Ribeye or filet, but OK. French Fries and the Salad were very good. Two glasses of wine that were very small pours for $3.50 euro each. Fish was $48 euros (but for 2) The steak was $22 euros. The ONLY downside was what I would say below average service. We never were checked on once we were served, and could have used more water and another drink..."

"Un service au top. Un large choix de poutines toutes aussi délicieuses les unes que les autres (mention spéciale à la poutine du moment qui change régulièrement). "Pizzas taken to take, frankly disappointed as I had read a lot of good returns. pizza with artichoke, certainly not the most garnished in the level of ingredients but put a quarter heart of artichoke for one part (so a mini artichoke in whole on pizza in all) and three garlic tips with two basil leaves that fight in a frankly tomato bath is not terrible. I feel like eating tomato sauce in the spoon so much my pizza baths in the tomato. It's too bad. My companion was happy with his pizza."

"I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Never have I had such a disappointing and downright unacceptable experience in a restaurant. My younger brother has a severe nut, sesame seed and shellfish allergy. We alerted the staff to this as soon as we sat down when we were ordering our dishes. The first starter that came out for him had sesame seeds on it, so we had to send it back to the kitchen for it to be remade. Then the mains came out, and yet again his dish was covered in sesame seeds. We had to send the dish back again, pointing out that he has a severe allergy and will go into anaphylactic shock if he comes into contact with these allergens. The waitress then brought out the same plate and stated to my mother that ‘sesame seeds are not nuts’, to which we then had to reiterate that we are well aware of this and he is allergic to both. We then realised there were still sesame seeds on the dish and they had just sent the same dish out again. Had my brother not fully inspected his meal again he could have died. This is a complete and utterly disgusting lack of respect and duty of care for patrons of your restaurant. This allergy is not a joke. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he suggested that sometimes people came in and ‘said they were allergic to tomatoes because they didn’t like them’, indicating how lax they were about the whole issue. We then asked if he could just see the dessert menu and skip the main because he was too nervous to eat it. We had to ask twice for the dessert menu and the waiter couldn’t even bring us that. At this point we decided to just leave the restaurants. Restaurants have a duty of care for their patrons. Allergies can be life threatening and I am utterly disgusted that you would treat someone who is paying to eat in your restaurant this way. If you have allergies or you value good service avoid this establishment at all costs."

"We had a deplorable welcome. It's been 8 years since I've been attending the sushi signs I've never seen such unpleasant nervous and tense. We arrived the restaurant had only two pick-up tables and the whole room was totally available, he demanded that I settle with my son and my two dogs at a certain table in the shade and close to the kitchens that didn't suit me despite the fact that all the establishment was almost free with a number of tables incommensurably available. Not even being there to place us apart for attacking us by order to put me in a depressing location. I preferred to place us at a table well exposed to sunlight with a beautiful view. I get out of the hotel in a state of irritation and stress! because he dared to put a diaper in the crate instead of crashing and making a low profile. I hope that the direction of the Channel you sushi will read this comment that is sincere because I love their establishment very much is I have never seen this anywhere. It's totally shameful and I can swear that I'm not someone to make scandals or waves that's not in my mentality. But this person I think of problems with herself to deal with before coming in public and having relationship with people. I should have listened to my first instinct after this deplorable welcome take to take away and go.... Pass your way if you see this gentleman."

"Nothing to say again. It's only succulent. Both on-site and on-going. Everything is always good and well prepared. Fresh and quality ingredients. "I would be a regular here , if I could just get fair treatment. I don't like eating in a place where there is no price for things. this is mainly a bar, I get it. But I don't know what a cocktail costs either. But depending on who is with me, the cost for the same rhum varies between 3 to 9 euros. and my omlette varies from 6 to 14 euros. alos, if I do not want any mushrooms, they should not be imposed on me as they are at a premium for come canned cepes. this annoys me. so I stopped going. also the service in the morning lets you know you are bothering them when ordering a simple cup of coffee. I'll pay more and go across the street where I will be greeted with bonjour or 'Bonjour Madame'. The owner is a beloved local character whose love of US cars makes him popular. He clearly does not need my business."

"The service was great but we left Very disappointed with the quality of the dishes, we drove all the way to the place cause we wanted grilled meat and fish, but we got uncooked pork, extremely hard meat with cartilage and a very scarce grilled fish sampler, as starters we asked for grilled octopus, they served a tiny dish, tapa style, with three little pieces of octopus and even some shrimp... On top of all, the wine was warm... 100€ bill for two pax, not worth the driving."
