"Visiting Conwy for a couple of nights over the bank holiday. Our experience of all the bars and pubs was excellent apart from the Bank of Conwy. I had been recommended to visit here by a family member but will never be retuning or recommending this place to anyone. I realise that it is busy during a Saturday night and that may put pressure on the bar staff but that does not mean that politeness to customers is optional. After patiently waiting for 10-15 at the bar to be served and watching one member of staff try to get on top of the pot washing area and the rest of the staff serve the far end of the bar. When the pot washer came to start to serve and went to the two customer next to us in the newly cleared pot area. I politely asked if we could be served first as we had been waiting for quite a while and they had only just come to be served. As myself and the other customer laughed and joked about us being first, I was then rudely told by the young bar staff that I’d not get anything if I had an attitude. After confirming I had heard his comment correctly I was quite rightly annoyed at this unnecessary and unwarranted rudeness and promptly walked out to drink elsewhere. As someone who has visited the renowned rude people in New York but didn’t feel it necessary to leave a negative review for any of those businesses I can safely say that i was more than a little angry at the way I was treated. I worked for many years during my late teens and early twenties in the bar and restaurant industry in places in Manchester City centre and student area which were much busier than a village environment and if your young lad thought I was being rude during our interaction, he has led a very sheltered life and perhaps he would be better suited to working in a factory where he is not customer facing and going to ruin the reputation of a business with his dreadful attitude and rudeness to patient and polite customers My suggestion is that you train your staff in how to be polite even under the pressure of a busy bank holiday. Very disrespectful and disappointing"

"EDIT after a reply from the owner: The table we sat at was completely clear of items/plates/mugs. It was simply a sticky, unwiped table. We were handed menus when we sat down without an offer to wipe the table until the waitress was prompted. I also returned the black coffee and orange juice to the same waitress, who accepted it without asking if there was a problem. You might feel this review does not reflect your business, but it certainly reflected our visit. It was Easter Sunday, you opened at 9, and we walked in at 2 minutes past and sat at a dirty table? Your manic 3 days suggests staff didn't wipe down correctly the day before. My handle is also the name of my favourite song by my favourite artist, and has nothing to do with visiting establishments. An unfortunate, defensive reply which shows a lack of professionalism Sat down at an unwiped table, however the waitress rectified this when I mentioned it. Ordered an orange juice and a black coffee, the orange was concentrate from a carton and the coffee was the worst I've ever tried. Left both almost untouched. My daughter ordered fried eggs on toast which to be fair were good. The scrambled egg my son ordered was abysmal, presumably made by someone who has never scrambled eggs before. The Belgian waffle my wife ordered was rock hard, impossible to cut through with a spoon presumably microwaved for far too long. My belly buster breakfast was fair, although let down by cheap sausages. Expected more from this place after reading reviews. It's seems most people are happy as long as a place is inexpensive. Left a £2 tip because the staff were pleasant and attentive to be fair, and the cheap quality products they work with is not really their fault. Would not return."
