"What a disappointment ! We stopped here for a snack a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. So when we were passing this Saturday and saw that the proprietor had put extra tables at the front and enclosed them like a little terrace we decided to stop again. Initially we went inside as there were no outside tables available, but as soon as one did we moved outside and told our server. BAD MISTAKE IT WENT DOWNHILL FROM THERE It was almost as if we had left the building and no longer mattered. To cut a long story short I will just list the problems in chronological order . 1 when the server brought out our drinks we explained that we had just sat down and would like the table wiped. 2. She looked a bit confused and went away but didn't come back. 3. Another server came and took food order and I asked her to wipe the table , she said she would and went away, but didn't come back. 4 . The second girl came back with our food but hadn't wiped the table so we asked her again and she left our food with us and went away but returned with some spray and a cloth and wiped the table. 5. We ate our food which was really nice , but afterwards sat and looked at the empty plates for around 20 minutes. 6. We finally got a young male servers attention and asked for the bill, whereupon he said we had to go inside to pay. I explained that I had a bad leg I am disabled and have arthritis in both knees) and he informed me that I could only pay cash if I was outside as the card machine didn't work outside. I agreed to pay cash and he went away. He didn't come back. 7. After a short while the server who served our food came out to serve another table so I asked her for the bill and she repeated that I needed to go inside. I explained again about my disability and that I was paying in cash. 8. It took her ten minutes to come back with the bill then asked me if I was paying by cash or card. I asked her if that was now an option and she told me again I would have to go inside to pay by card. 9 . I handed over the cash to pay the bill, and left , exasperated and feeling like the staff didn't really care. When we arrived the welcome from the proprietor was enthusiastic and welcoming. But I can only add that the staff were useless and spoiled the whole experience. There is no excuses for bad service , please read the next bit if you are the owners. Training Training Training Your staff are your representatives and they can totally ruin the visitors experience and opinions of your business. It starts at the top and filters down , but so does the rot. WE DEFINITELY WON'T BE RETURNING BUT UNFORTUNATELY FOR THIS BUSINESS NEITHER WILL ANYBODY ELSE WE KNOW."
