"I was on the phone explaining what I wanted for 10 minutes, was simple what I asked for chicken goujon and chips with cheese. They gave me a massive tray of chips, and massive chips with cheese and goujions, came fast,had a couple of bites and was very sick all night, couldn't stop throwing up. but they robbed me £12.50, if they just listen to my order properly, instead of making there own orders! Now I'm left with not much money, single person. Hope your happy, money grabbing people."

"What a find, lovely quant pub. Stopped for food when passing through on way home from Barmouth and did not disappoint. Had the pie of the day which was minted lamb. Came with a choose of chips or mash and a generous side of mixed veg, which consisted of carrots cauliflower beans braised red cabbage courgettes and sprouts. Would recommend to anyone and we will be back for more."

"Went here on numerous occasions as it’s a nice walk down the beach and back. The first morning we had a ‘breakfast in a box’ which was well a mixture of a sausage, thick bacon, a poached egg and beans. There was also some slightly undercooked tomatoes and also spinach. It was a different and tried to give a new take on a healthier and more environmentally friendly option with a cardboard box and wooden cutlery. The fork needs to be steel though as the wooden ones are too flimsy. The breakfast was ok but didn’t fulfil me if I’m honest. After that we only went there for coffees. The toilet situation is odd as it’s behind a ‘no entry’ gate and also has a sign saying no entry on the door. I heard it being referred to as a staff toilet so maybe in the summer (when the nearby beach toilets are open), customers can’t use it? It’s a long walk from the main beach car park to have a meal and then not being able to go to the toilet for the long walk back so I think they need to make it clearer that this toilet is acceptable to use for customers. It does look like you are going into a ‘staff only’ area as there are no toilet signs there."

"amazing authentic Thai restaurant eating was great, we ordered the grilled bark, pad thai, baked rice and lamb massaman to share and we loved everything! (would really recommend the massaman curry and Thai fried rice, the presentation was also great). coming from london (and tried many Thai restaurants) it is safe to say not everyone place can make Thai food so good! the lady who served us (which we suspected was the owner) was absolutely beautiful and super friendly. the place was calm, but it shouldn't really be, make sure they check it!"

"After a visit to Snowdon on the Snowdon Steam Railway, we discovered this little cafe and decided to go in. So glad we did! Wanted to try a Welsh delicacy so opted for the Welsh Rarebit…delicious! My husband had the Welsh beef burger and he wasn’t disappointed either. Bought some cake to take home with us, Apple Cake and Bara Brith…very nice too! Nice friendly staff. Glad we found this little place, in a very quiet Llanberis on a wet day."

"this is a beautiful cafe/tapas bar on waterloo rd, therefore the name. They make a predominant cold tapas plate with some warm meals, which is presented delightfully. for about £8, they get a selection of 3 tapas dishes from a list of about 16, but they also get a large square plate full of sliced fruit and salad vegetables, grapes, bananas, pineapples, apples, radishes, paprika, salate, gurke, as well as a heated ciabatta with a beautiful sweet chili sauce. even for a great eater like me, this will feed the hungry people. the tapas are placed in shells over the fruit/seed. they also have some nice fresh cakes, and the favorite carrot cake I've ever had. in a city lacking nice places to eat.this is a place I would highly recommend."

"I am only giving one star as the rating won't let me give no stars. We had an absolutely abysmal meal there last night. Two meals out of four were returned to the kitchen as inedible. The lamb steak was tough and over cooked. Chicken breast was over cooked and as dry as a bone. Roast' potatoes were like bullets and only seven and a half between four people. My partner had the steak pie and was ill during the night. Would not recommend anybody to go there."

"We were here for dinner. The entire interior is lovingly designed. You don't immediately realize that this is also a pub. First you stand at the reception of the small hotel. The restaurant's only menu is written on a blackboard here. Please take a photo of it and then order it. We had the beef lasagna and the chicken curry. Both very tasty. You immediately felt comfortable and welcome here. An absolute recommendation!"

"We couples were visiting the area so looked at TA for restaurants in the area. We chose Ship Aground from the reviews. We arrived on time and was shown to our table. No one came back to us for at least However from there on things improved. Only girls were waiting on and the restaurant was fairly busy. Both of the girls that served us were lovely, friendly and polite. Moving onto the food, this was very good and reasonably priced. We all had different meals off the menu and all very satisfied with the presentation and quality. The one thing that let the whole experience down was the ladies toilets. The room wasn’t equipped with essentials (No toilet paper) and the general cleaning was missing. This little room do to speak wasn’t visited whilst leaving as would have put me off wanting to eat in the restaurant if I had visited on arrival. Al in all a very choice from using TA."

"we have made an impromptu booking for 12 to prevent us from washing it again at the airbnb. it brings your own alcohol, so we could stick to what we already drank. the personal was friendly and welcoming. we ordered a large selection of foods, none of which was disappointed. the portions were particularly generous. I had a lamb biryani, the big and delicate pieces lamb had my preferred style."

"rooms are decorated nicely and neat the overall room was amazing the only thing i would say is the cleanliness of the bar as there was ants on my table and flies are everywhere. I overheard some staff talking about how the floor is supposed to be mopped every sunday ONCE A WEEK which is appauling but to make this even worse he said that it doesn’t get done every week!! i would recommend to not eat the breakfast as it is not the best and it sits on a side for hours rather than it being fresh"

"this pub is located in the central area of dolgellau. it has an inconspicuous entrance either from the front or rear garden area. this will quickly forget when it is decorated in the pub, tastefully in local style. they offer food as well as drink and eating is well prepared, substantially and costly. there are tables both in the upper and in the garden. the pub is also proud to be dog friendly and has won a national award. it even has a dog menu. this pub is recommended either for a drink or a meal or both and bring the dog, both it and it is well served by the friendly staff."

"Me and a few friends had travelled to Bala lake for a nice day out, we walked into Bala centre to find somewhere for food and drink around 4pm. This was the first place we crossed, so we went in and waited by the sign where it said ‘wait to be seated’. We saw people sat outside with finished plates so we thought they’ll be serving food. We were waiting a fair few minutes, I popped my head around to the bar where this middle aged grumpy looking guy was working. He could definitely see us as I tried saying excuse me a few times, but he proceeded to ignore. So I went through to the bar where he was serving people and politely asked if they were serving food. He looked at me as he was pouring a pint and in a really grumpy way went ‘no’ and looked back down at the pint he was pouring. He looked angry? Even people at the bar noticed, we all just looked at each other a bit surprised. As we walked out, some people from the bar followed and said ‘yeah he’s a ‘wan*er, you’re better off trying somewhere further up’. Which we did and found a much more welcoming and friendlier place. It was just a shame he was so cold, like he didn’t want us there. We were tempted to get pizza from next door and all have drinks outside, but after the way he was we didn’t want to spend our money there. He lost out on 8 of us who were happy to fork out for drinks at least."

"We visited as a family on holiday, looking for a good Sunday Lunch and found ourselves in this surprisingly big cafe/restaurant. It was busy yet the tables were nicely spaced out and the establishment was clean and tidy. We each ordered a roast dinner and some drinks, and we weren’t disappointed by size. There was plenty of food and I was pleasantly surprised by the addition of cauliflower cheese to the dish, which I haven’t had for quite some time and it was delicious. The one critique I had with the meal is that the beef was a bit dry, possibly over-cooked and just a bit hard to eat. But the rest of the meal I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. I also had a glimpse of other tables’ food coming out and I must admit the burgers looked phenomenal. We will remember this as a good spot for lunch when we visit again in the future. I would definitely recommend."

"During our holiday, we made sure to visit the Railway Cafe on our first full day, as we had missed out on it the year before. We were not disappointed. I ordered the ham, egg, and chips, while my wife had the Welsh Rarebit, and we both enjoyed our meals with their generous portions. My wife even mentioned that it was the best rarebit she had ever tasted. It was interesting to see that many locals were also enjoying their lunch there, and we enjoyed listening to their stories and comments. If we ever find ourselves back in Tywyn, we would definitely visit the Railway Cafe again. I even bought a mug with a map of the Tywyn area from the shop as a souvenir to remember our visit."

"Called in for Ice cream on our way to the castle and so glad we did. The ice cream in here is made on site!! Brilliant and fresh every day. I had chocolate and coconut bounty and hubby had pistachio and mango/passion fruit. The scoops were very generous and the price very reasonable. Some of the best ice cream we've ever had. Also did a large variety of sundress at reasonable prices. Would definitely visit again."

"Service was first rate and the food was generally delicious. Everyone had to pre order and pre pay, so it was a really nice touch that the place cards not only had the names but also on the underside were the menu choices for each person. The Festive Menu food was well presented and generally, the food was tasty and adequate. It was nice, for instance, that the carrots were not over cooked and had plenty of flavour. One diner felt that the turkey was a bit lacking in flavour, but she is a Cordon Bleu. There also seemed to be an issue that the stuffing balls appeared to be something like pork stuffing, not the anticipated sage and onion, although the menu only said stuffing anyway. Those who had the gilt head bream felt that the portion size was a bit on the small side unlike ordering bream in Greece, where you get the whole fish! As ever, the chefs handled special dietary requirements with perfect attention to detail, with exclusions and substitutions accordingly. I'd certainly be glad to repeat and to recommend the venue and the Festive Menu. We have often eaten here and never been disappointed, usually just as a couple or small groups, so it was interesting to see how efficient the catering was for the 40 50 party size."

"We booked this restaurant online from our home in Scotland, but didn’t realize at the time that it was located within a caravan/holiday park. However, this turned out to be no issue at all. The place was easy to find, and we received a warm welcome from the staff. The food was exceptionally tasty, beautifully presented, and very affordable. The staff worked diligently to ensure that all guests were well taken care of with their food and drinks. This place was an unexpected gem, offering a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and a great selection of delicious dishes that won’t break the bank. If you find yourself in the area, definitely give it a try!"
