"We brought our family to the Derby Inn right before Christmas, with a mix of adults and kids ranging from 2 to 14 years old, and we had a wonderful lunch. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to the children's needs, and the food was delicious. There was a great variety of options on the menu, including good choices for the kids, and the portion sizes were generous. We will definitely be returning again!"

"we're here while we were on vacation. I was not quite sure what to expect, but was super impressed by the restaurant. the personal was friendly, the environment really nice and eating was top notch. I had the chicken sherpa, who was absolutely excellent and made her really decent portions sound so that they did not starve. I live over 2 hours away from the kathmandu, but if I were closer, if I am here regularly."

"The food was excellent, but the service was lacking. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our food, only receiving it after we asked about it. As we were still enjoying our coffee, we were abruptly told that our table was needed and asked to leave, even though we had only been there for an hour and a half. The slow service was not our fault, yet we felt rushed out. The manager was not sympathetic at all. We will not be returning, as we left feeling unwelcome. The vegetarian options were good, particularly the nut roast."

"I have visited this restaurant several times and have always been pleased with the service, which is accommodating and friendly. The food is of good quality, but I was disappointed with the portion size of the linguini with prawns I ordered last night. Despite not having a big appetite, I felt that the serving was too small at starter size. The dish cost £18, which seemed excessive for the amount of food I received - about 8 prawns on a small portion of linguini. I noticed that some other dishes at the restaurant were larger, but mine was not. Unfortunately, no one asked me about my meal, and although I should have complained, I left feeling disappointed."

"My birthday treat from my daughter. I had a Special Vegetable Curry, with both mushroom rice and a Chapati, Diet Coke and ice. My daughter had Prawn Korma and rice. My food was so really, really lovely, the best curry I have ever had and I mean that. Although my daughters Korma was very rich and a bit sickly due to the sauce being so sweet, so she said. The whole restaurant is on one level and the toilets too, so is OK for disabled and wheelchair users. Very busy restaurant which tells you something also, probably best to book a table when visiting. Parking spaces is on the main road and is small in size."

"Haven’t been here for many years so wanted to try it out again after seeing good reviews. My husband and I had originally booked for our anniversary dinner but ended up eating out at lunch that day instead so changed the booking for my birthday meal with our sons a few days later. Not sorry we didn’t go for anniversary as ambiance was very lacking. Lights were very bright and did not feel in the least romantic. Which really surprised me. But food was mostly very nice. Service was good and attentive. The starters were good, whitebait, bruschetta, and prawns in a chilli tomato sauce being the favourites. I had the Avocado Mamma Mia which was ok but very heavy on the Avocado compared to the small amount of prawns and smoked salmon. Out of the four main meals, the two pasta dishes were the least enjoyed due to ‘lack of flavour’ but I enjoyed the fillet of beef medallions in peppercorn sauce and one of my sons enjoyed his risotto then finished off Dad’s leftover seafood pasta. Desserts were lovely. Profiteroles, honeycomb cheesecake and vanilla gelato. No complaints there! I didn’t see the bill but I imagine it wasn’t cheap. We had one bottle of Pinot and I had a glass of the delicious dessert wine. Other than that we all just drank water which may have kept the price down just a little. Overall a nice evening was had. Would I rush back? Probably not anytime very soon as there are other places I’d like to try. But I’m glad we gave it a go."

"This is the best pizza we’ve had in a long time and possibly ever! We ordered the Sorriso and Seafood pizzas, both had ample toppings and were full of flavour. Excellent friendly customer service and pizzas were ready and cooked fresh in 10 minutes. I never leave reviews but this Italian thoroughly deserves it, on the basis of their pizza alone. "I recently was lucky enough to be treated to a meal at the coach and horses and boy what a treat. I was greeted not only by a charming pub which oozed character but genuine smiles from behind the bar,the welcome was as warm as the fire that glowed.The food was absolutely delicious,and trust me this is a real understatement....proper homemade food and at exceptional prices. I went for the steak and ale pie and WOW,every mouthful was beyond mouthwatering(the pastry my golly. .horseradish laced mash and vegetables cooked to perfection.The staff went above and beyond to make our visit one to remember.I had to privilege of meeting the manager Oli and what a lovely chap he is,the staff food,service are a testimony to the hard work and dedication he must give to his job.If you get a chance I highly recommend this amazing proper pub(a rare find these days it won’t disappoint."

"My family and I regularly dine at this restaurant and we believe that the food and staff are the best in town. However, during our last visit, there were at least five dogs inside the pub, with two of them in the restaurant. While I am a dog lover and have owned dogs myself, I was uncomfortable with a dog facing me while I was eating, so I had to move seats. Additionally, a couple behind me were feeding their dog from a plate and then placing it on a chair with its paws on the table. Apart from the health and safety concerns, I found this behavior disrespectful to other diners and to the staff who have to clean up after them. Personally, I believe that dogs should not be allowed in dining areas, but I understand that this decision lies with the owner. At the very least, dogs should be kept outside away from guests who are having a meal. This message is directed to dog owners in general as some people may not like dogs. I have reached out to the pub about this issue but have not received a response yet. I kindly request that dogs be kept out of the restaurant. Thank you."

"Just dropped in for couple pints of 49er...... great Ringwood pint with great table service. Booked a table for dinner this evening....another of my favourite chicken burgers and pint of fantastic Ringwood 49er. Top marks again to both kitchen and front of house. Thank you all, see you soon. My wife and I returned to eat last Tuesday (cheap ale night). We both chose Dirty Chicken Burgers which proved possibly the best burgers we've had! So, great food, great service and again, a couple of perfect pints of Ringwood 49er! Many thanks to all on duty."

"It’s quite hard to find somewhere to eat on the high street in Hook, but we saw the Waggon and Horses and went in. Unfortunately the kitchen had literally just closed for lunch (it closes at 2.30pm) but the lady behind the bar checked with the kitchen and they were happy to cook for us. Lunch was delicious! The chips were amazing, great portion size. There were open fires in both bars (very welcome as it was a bitterly cold day) and the staff were lovely. I would highly recommend this pub."

"We we a large ish table of around 18. The food was good, no complaints there but considering there was only one other table of 4 in the restaurant those of us at the far end of the table were served much later than those at the other end. As we didn’t have individual plates but had large sharing plates that we helped ourselves to, that was unacceptable, and meant that one end of the table was still waiting while the other had finished! The main complaint however was that the restaurant was freezing. Had we been told before our visit we may have had the chance to dress more warmly as the staff, who were obviously aware, were wearing body warmers!! The other table also had they coats on for some of the evening too. Food good Ambiance cold and lack of atmosphere Staff abrupt but fairly efficient Drinks selection poor Will not be visiting again in the near future although I did feel that the value for money food wise was good. Perhaps takeaway is the answer!"

"Christmas Lunch was fantastic, pre ordered the day before. Upon arrival our table was reserved and laid with crackers tinsel etc. Main course was very tasty, dessert was top notch. Now the most important thing..... Beer........, isnt that what pubs are for really! We had a couple of fine pints of crystal clear ales. All six on tap were a fine selection, i was spoilt with the choice. As always the beer here is always 100% , no where else in the area comes close to it, a credit to you Steve, im always up for sampling it. Thank You Sam for your hospitality, Steve...... "we were here today and had the best experience ever! I am milk and gluten-free, so it would always be a challenge; or so I thought. I was offered a gluten-free and milk-free waffel, which was specially made for me and milk-free ice cream. I also had a hazelnut and caramellatte with soy milk. my other half had a freakshake and salted karamell waffel. we had such a nice time and the personal was so friendly, friendly and understanding. it really did my day. I can't wait to come back. although I feel that it could take a few days before I can eat something again after we have eaten so much! Many thanks and we will see you soon. excellent eating and excellent service."

"Came in here about 2 years ago to get a Sunday roast while me and my partner are eating another customers dog went for a poo in the middle of the floor and the staff thought it was cute and didn’t make the slightest fuss. I came in over the weekend with my one year old twins and the staff did nothing but badger me for the duration of my meal telling me to tell my kids to stop crying when in fact they weren’t making that much noise at all, so dogs pooping in the floor are welcome, but babies in buggies are not, odd place with odder staff will not be returning"

"Dined here recently with my husband and 2 of our grandchildren. The staff were just lovely, friendly and attentive (without being too invasive). Liz the manager was outstanding, we arrived without a booking as it was last minute. She was most helpful and although it was quite busy , she organised a table for us in a few minutes.
