"My husband and I had our 44th wedding anniversary dinner here and we had a beautiful meal. The food was delicious and not at all fast food. It wasn't as spicy as we are used to but still lovely. The young man who served us was attentive but not obtrusively so. He was friendly and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. I only hope this restaurant gets more custom. It was a Thursday evening at 7 and we were 1 of 2 couples in the restaurant. By 7.30 and for the rest of the evening we were the only diners. Please try this restaurant. It really is a jewel in Kilmarnock and not at all expensive. We'll be back."

"The service and food were excellent. A negative point is the fact that, shortly after we were seated, someone whom I imagine to be one of the owners/managers turned up to the area we were in and announced that a very polite and slightly embarrassed person who was with him was going to screw some seats down on the tables right beside us and that it would be noisy for a bit. All the usual politeness conventions were ignored and everyone at my table found the manager curt and bullish in his approach. He could very easily have handled it in a much more courteous manner. The work was noisy but didn’t last too long and the person doing the work very politely told us it was finished and apologised for the inconvenience. The manager did nothing of the sort and continued to act as if we were there to put up and shut up. Otherwise the ladies serving us and the food itself were excellent."

"I recently dined at this establishment for breakfast, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was impressive, earning a solid 4 out of 5. The service was also commendable, with attentive staff that contributed positively to my meal. However, the atmosphere left something to be desired, scoring only a 2. It felt a bit lacking in ambiance, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. The price per person was reasonable, falling between £10 and £20. "Strange main entrance, didn t seem to be a reception place to advise we d arrived for our booking. Found someone at the bar to inform in the end. Good they gave us a table a short distance in as requested in our booking due to mobility issues. Seats comfortable in a booth. The window blinds were all down which made you feel enclosed and the dining room was brightly lit, not much character to it. Service was good, just one reminder for drinks which were forgotten about, Food tasty, though my curry wasn t but the rest in my party were happy enough, mine was just a bland sauce thing, not really like a curry. Lots of alcohol in the desserts, so if you don t like whiskey etc, the choice became limited. Generally a good list of things on menu to eat. Enjoyable evening ni the less and would suggest you should try it and see if you like it as an alternative place to visit in future."

"I arrived at The Long House and was greeted warmly right away. The staff showed us to our table and took our drink orders, presenting us with the menus. Once our drinks arrived, we placed our meal orders. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful when they arrived. We ordered three courses; two of them were very enjoyable, but unfortunately, the third was not great. However, the management noticed the issue immediately. They came over, took the unsatisfactory dish away, and offered us another option from the menu. The replacement dish was fantastic and completely made up for the earlier mishap. I must commend the exceptional service provided by The Long House staff throughout the evening. The dessert was a delightful highlight as well. I highly recommend giving The Long House a try. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful night!"

"Disappointed, this is the only Chinese restaurant my husband will go to as he isn’t keen on Chinese food and we normally really enjoy it. Unfortunately this time we were left feeling disappointed in everything, our table wasn’t ready and we were told to go upstairs for a drink the service is really slow as the bar staff were under pressure, half an hour later we were taken to our table without any apology as soon as we sat down and opened the menu the waitress was there trying to take our order then again 5 min later. When we did give our order I asked for my duck to be done medium so it still had a bit of pink.. food came out and duck was over cooked. The staff don’t look happy at all. They work hard it’s a shame I felt sorry for them. Chinese take away for me from now on I think Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2"

"Ordered roll with bacon and black pudding and since I am vegetarian I ordered a scrambled egg roll. When our order arrived the black pudding was on top of my scrambled egg instead of with the bacon. I told the waiter who brought our food to the table about the mix up, he duly took it away, apologised and returned two minutes later with the same rolls but the black pudding moved to the bacon roll. A chef should know, after explaining I don’t eat meat, that this is not a solution. The remains of the black pudding was clear for anyone to see. I was offered a replacement but I declined and the cost of my roll removed from the bill. We have visited the Pavilion many times since it opened but clearly a chef needs to pay attention to vegetarian/vegan requirements. This practice is not acceptable in an establishment such as this. I would recommend the Pavilion to other people this was just a most unfortunate situation."
