"Though staff were really friendly, the food wasn’t good. After reading many great reviews I was expecting good Syrian food. What messed up the dish was the canned chickpeas on top of the pita bread which soaked the canned water. Also mince meat in a sandwich did not taste good and the side potatoes were bad quality. Either I was unlucky or the quality has dropped at this place. Food: 1 Service: 4"

"Shocking. I can’t believe a company as large as Merlín would allow such an embarrassing restaurant to operate in their own hotel. I can now understand why they charge you as before you eat; I can’t imagine anyone would pay once they’d tried the pathetic food on offer. A selection of roasted meats sounds good at first until you get back to your table and find the beef is so chewy it was inedible and the turkey so dry it resembled cardboard. I took a video of the fish fingers to show how solid they were. You could have knocked nails in with them. They were so dehydrated that there wasn’t actually any any fish left inside! The common factor throughout every dish was that they were stone cold. Not warm, cold. The churros must have come from the same place as the fish fingers. They were solid. We really couldn’t find enough to eat that would have justified the kids price let alone the adult’s ridiculous price. Nearly a hundred quid for five of us including the flat, refillable if you could be bothered, soft drinks. If my review can save even one family making the same mistake that I did I’ll be happy. Merlin and chessington are obviously satisfied with ripping customers off who have already paid a handsome sum to stay in the hotel by their lack of response to any of the bad reviews, of which there are many."

"I have been getting my lunch from this cafe for 4 years all through my undergraduate degree and now on my MSc course. I specifically went there for lunch today as a treat to celebrate a good grade I just received (that’s how delicious the food is! I got an egg mayonnaise sandwich on white bread and I think it might be the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Doesn’t get any fresher then watching the server peel the eggs to make the egg mayo! Everything I have eaten in there is delicious, the interior is absolutely beautiful, especially since they had a revamp, and the staff are always polite, helpful and quick with their service! I never write reviews but this place 100% deserves it!"

"I always like to believe that a good restaurant is good not just because of the food and drink but also the ambience and customer service and this restaurant has it all. Although the menu does not change very often they always have great specials that change daily and will bend over backwards to find something you will like. Great wine and beer choice and if all you want is a coffee no problem. What makes this a restaurant that my wife and I now frequent weekly is the welcome and service we alway get from the owner and his team better than anywhere else I've ever eaten and somewhere that I would recommend trying if ever you are in Surbiton."

"Myself and my wife came down for comedy night. I had the fish cake and she had the flat iron steak. Both were exceptional especially for how busy the pub was. Our waitress was fantastic and very knowledgeable. The recommendations for the Malbec and the Pinot to match with our meals was very much appreciated. We have already booked our table to see Tim Vine in July and are looking forward to another great evening and even better food. Can’t recommend this place enough."

"I would not even give this place a single star! Out of all the restaurants I have visited, this one had the worst service. I'm not exaggerating - we didn't even receive any service. I went with a group of friends, and one of them arrived 10-15 minutes before us and was already seated. She tried to get some service, but nobody paid any attention to us when we all arrived. The lady working there was too busy chatting with other customers, and even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, they didn't bother to inform us that they would be with us shortly. We eventually left, and still no one noticed or cared about losing our business. We definitely won't be returning."

"Sarada is truly a fabulous find in Surbiton, Surrey. I've been a loyal Prithi patron for the last twelve years that I've been visiting Surbiton/Kingston-Upon-Thames. Although I'll not abandon Prithi I assure you that a visit to Sarada will be on my dining itinerary on all future visits to Surrey. My son and I enjoyed two dinners at Sarada as we sampled the menu from top to bottom. We found the recipes to be quite diverse and the ingredients of our dinner selections to be wonderfully fresh. Although the service can be a bit surly from time to time that's all a part of the most eclectically enjoyable encounter of the Sarada scene. Don't miss out on the nice selection of Indian beers and other beverages served at a reasonable price."

"we have been immersed here, as we have seen a table for 4 in the outside. I asked the people on the next table who go when they enjoyed their meal drinks and they were nice and very recommended the cocktails and eat, they had a few starters shared between them. we had our two children in the age of 9 and 6 years with us we entered the house to get a menu and children's menu we ordered 4 meals, wee and water in the bar give our table number. we also had a super beautiful lady who looked after us! she discovered my daughter grumpy when she cleared the table next to us and immediately helped bring another glass water with a delicious strawberry and extra strawberry for our son. the waitress was friendly, smiling and very friendly, she was very attentive, we felt very pampered and it was a super tasty bite. the food arrived immediately and we loved it! we really had a nice time to sit outside and we enjoyed how we felt about us. good prices for food and drinks! highly recommend this place also clean and neat. again thanks to the super nice waitress!"

"We stopped at this cafe mid afternoon on a Sunday because there was parking right outside of the door. The menu was extensive and so reasonably priced that we were spoilt for choice. Having made our decision we ordered a lasagne and a mixed grill from the very attentive waiter. The meal was delivered in a reasonably quick time and the portions were huge. The lasagne was the best my wife had ever had, home made and full of flavour. This was presented with chips and a well constructed side salad. My mixed grill was substantial and a good assortment of meats, the lamb chop being the best thing on the plate, it was so tasty. This was accompanied by a copious amount of peas and chips. We were so full that we ended up having to leave some on our plates, something we seldom do but we were just stuffed! Our second cup of tea was complimentary, which is a rare thing these days. All in all, an excellent find, with excellent value for money and we are only sorry that we do not live in the area to make this a regular event. These owners have got it right so keep up the good work!"

When diners were shown to their table, instead of being escorted, they were just pointed to a table across the room. "I ordered food from Haweli. Big mistake! The staff member who delivered my order was extremely aggressive from the moment he arrived. Instead of taking a picture of the order being delivered to my door, he started taking pictures of me and filming me on his phone. After asking him to stop on numerous occasions, he made an excuse about needing to collate evidence of the delivery. He continued to record my voice and film me and not the delivery itself! . He made me extremely uncomfortable as he continued with his aggressive nature. . My neighbour heard the commotion and stepped out to help me and offered to call the police. At that point he ran off. I have my food but cannot even eat it due to being so upset about what has happened. I called the restaurant and they had no concern whatsoever, which in itself is very concerning!! Now i have some random man with my video in his phone and a restaurant that made excuses for him! I am absolutely disgusted!"

"Great coffee in a cute cafe. Very cute cafe which was really well decorated for Christmas, with hand drawn images in the windows. The cafe is flooded with local art and photography, which is great to see. The cafe also has a selection of speciality foods to buy for home, including pasta and sauces, which reassuringly have no English on them (a sign of an authentic Italian product! . Friendly staff served us very promptly.Coffee was very smooth, not bitter or harsh at all. Far from a typical dark roast which was refreshing. Delicious coffee.Would highly recommend especially when you can sit in."

"Here's a rarity. A friendly, local, proper bakery which is much valued by local residents and is well-known to builders, van drivers and passing trade as THE place to pick up a hot pastry and cuppa at lunchtime. Open bizarrely) from midnight to 3pm, this is a real bakery, with ovens blazing through the night as tray after tray of loaves, baguettes, rolls and pastries are produced. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there are three tables outside, so you can sit and watch the 213 buses going by, and try to make yourself heard over the constant traffic along Malden Road to and from Worcester Park. The Plough Bakery has been in business opposite the Plough pub for 35 years, sticking to what it does best. It's like Greggs, but without the corporate millstone round its neck. Everything is fresh and generous. The sausage rolls £1.90) are a meal in themselves, finished with a lattice-style pastry decoration, hearty and substantial. But why stop there? The coffee machine is churning out cuppas every few minutes cappuccinos are £1.50), and alongside the loaf selection there are apple turnovers at £1.20, superb cheese and onion pasties at £2 and lemon drizzle doughnuts at £1.20. In charge is a redoubtable trout who won't take any lip and gives as good as she gets, especially if you get her going about the parking outside... which is free, but is often snarled up by other local businesses. Everything is baked on site, and traditional bakeries like this deserve support."

"I called to make a reservation and the phone line was busy. However, they promptly returned my call, which was perfect. The welcome at the restaurant was friendly and welcoming, making us feel like regulars even though it was our first time there. The food was the best we have had in the KT area. "I am unsure how to rate this restaurant. We have visited before and the food and service from the older gentleman are excellent. However, I had planned to meet a colleague for breakfast here. When we arrived, the owners were inside, but one of them informed us that they were only opening at 9am instead of their usual 7:30am (I arrived at 8:00am). Unfortunately, we had to go across the street for breakfast."

"We visit in early afternoon. There was no other customers in the restaurant only us. We ordered three dishes for two people, the ginseng chicken soup, the fried noodles and a small pig feet. The fried noodles tastes good but a bit oily. The pig feet is different from what I tried in Korea, with some thick sauce on it... taste not bad. The ginseng chicken soup is ok. You can find a small ginseng stuck in the chicken. But we couldnt taste any ginseng in the soup. Total is around £35. We felt v full when we left. Overall is so and so... but what could I expect in UK? Only visit when i miss korean food a lot. Food could be even better."

"I have started coming to this pub every week for the last three weeks as they have a pub quiz on Thursday, the community there are relaxed, inclusive and happy. The food is great and nothing super expensive, the portions are great, though the sharers may only cover 2 people for a meal, 3-4 if you are just getting something to snack on. Drinks are average prices £2 for a Pepsi, £4-6 for beer and cider etc. The quiz is awesome and run by Steve who is a brilliant quiz master. There is plenty of parking on the local roads in the evening, I'm not sure about during the day, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure out parking on a road away, and there is a K2 bus that is regular and Berrylands train station is about 30-60 seconds walk. I think a lot of pubs tend to over promise and under deliver, either on atmosphere, food or drink. Im not saying this pub is mind blowing and you'll tell all your friends about it, but to have a pub that is genuinely really comfortable for literally anyone is really nice, it leaves a smile on your face when you leave, and it's in a very nice, quaint and quiet neighbourhood that is very safe and is literally seconds from the train station. Relaxed and safe enough for kids and families, and dog friendly. Good food, good drink, good company, what else do you need? Dietary restrictions: They have vegan and vegetarian options, and I have overheard other people changing their orders to suit different Intolerances too. Kid-friendliness: Very relaxed atmosphere, safe and quiet roads outside, the kids menu is pretty standard, but it's good. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp at the main entrance and a wide door way so there shouldn't be any issues getting in. Servers and staff are super kind and respectful so I think any issues would be dealt with swiftly. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish and Chips, Slow Roasted Pork Belly with Crackling, Berrylands Burger, Nachos, Pulled Pork"
