"who appreciates the jugoslavian cuisine is exactly right in opatija. in a slightly narrow but very cozy restaurant, the restaurant finds a great offer of decor, whose price is in order. in addition to the Yugoslav one also finds German menues. for seniors and children are also offered courts that are not so luxuriant. to welcome there is only a julischka on the cost of the house. the children get a lolly after eating and if it is too boring the little ones are brought to pieces. to all menues a salad plate can be put together on the lush salat buffet. unfortunately the restaurant is in the 2 floor and thus a taboo for wheelchairs and disabled. the staff is very nice and strives to meet the wishes of the guests in a friendly way. so even an empty teller is simply put to it if a gast actually only wants to drink from the menue of his companion. the restaurant is very well visited and therefore it is recommended to order a table a few days before. cleanliness is the a and o in this restaurant. dirty tablecloths are immediately replaced by clean and for me always very important that the toilets are in a perfect condition. So who wants to eat in a well-maintained ambiente is right here. especially families with children are treated very nicely in opatija and especially I like: I don't have to wait hours for my food, but after the latest 10 minutes I can eat my dishes with pleasure."

"the old porthof was demolished and on this place the restaurant “Alter Porthof” was rebuilt. for a few years the old porthof has acquired a good call and offers many specialties at the seasons. for example, there are great offers around ente, gans and co. the old porthof is very large, you have enough space to sit, even if it is a bit fuller. the restaurant is nicely furnished and very clean and there is a very nice sitting option outside. a separate room allows solemnities in which up to 160 people can participate, and there is already the first star retreat from me. at a Christmas celebration of our company we had rented this room and accepted that we would be there among us. I'm sorry. also other guests who only wanted to eat have taken place in the room to feed there. I felt this as disturbing and my colleagues too. the second star withdrawal is based on eating. on the Christmas celebrations mentioned, some colleagues were able to join me and I was in the restaurant until 22:30, as we had to work until 22 o'clock. Of course we got to eat at this late hour, but unfortunately the dishes were no longer enjoyable. although previously registered, some colleagues were only able to come later, our food was already finished with eating the other colleagues and then kept warm. the black medalloins were cold, dry and hard, and the nice rag. there was no replacement. I therefore recommend this restaurant only to a limited extent."

"Looks can be deceving - This restaurant is completely on trend - wooden furnishings, neon art on the walls, swanky lounge chairs and couches, they have it all. What they don't have is great food unfortunately.A quick look at the menu (and if you're upstairs you might not be able to see if very clearly - the lighting is very poor) and I was surprised by how small the selection was - that being said most places with a small menu have great quality food (not this one).I chose to have the Lamb with beetroot sauce and figs.My Lamb was very well cooked and the presentation was fantastic - very jackson pollock, but the food story ends there - lacking any flavour and seasoning the meat ended up very dry without a real sauce to compliment it.My partner had the meat tartar, once again a very similar experience. A large enough portion supported by a very poor display of complimentary items. Three tiny pieces of brown bread with four mini saucers of capers, tomatoes and onions. Really very disappointing for what was an incredibly large portion of tartar. And for the prices of both these products we we're left wanting so much more. I'd go back here for the Gin though, which I did enjoy immensely, and of which they have a great selection of - once again very on trend. The service was friendly and we didn't wait long for our food either - its just a shame it really was'nt up to mark. In the end this restaurant is more fashion over function I'm afraid."
