"We dined at Badalucci our second night in Lugano, and were incredibly impressed by the personable friendly service, outstanding food, and tranquil atmosphere. The amuse bouche trio to start was fabulous there was a multitude of flavors packed into a each tiny bite! The standout had to be the small tomato sphere which was covered in a crystallized sugar. The bread service was delicious and had something for everyone, whether it was a classic crusty baguette or a blackened brioche roll. My langoustine appetizer was light, fresh, and flavorful. No complaints! Myself and my parents all opted for the special of the night for our main, which was blue lobster from the Mediterranean sea accompanied with homemade pasta in a word, phenomenal. The lobster was perfectly sweet, the pasta was cooked to perfection (al denté and the flavor from the sauce was spectacular. Accompanied with the delicious food was the incredibly kind service! The staff emulated the perfect balance between checking in and giving us space, and were overall lovely. Another highlight was the jugs that the restaurant used for water, they were truly pieces of art! If you decide to go to only one fine dining/ Michelin restaurant in Lugano, I would recommend Badalucci above all others!"

"Me and my husband chose this restaurant to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We came all the way from USA and I can tell you this place didn't disappoint us. Very nice location, close to the lake and easy to find. We started our 5 course chef's tasting menu from appetizers by chef. It was mix of cheeses in different variations deep fried, cream cheese, cheese truffle and refreshing gazpacho soup. 1.Our first tasting dish were amberjack ceviche with fresh mint, peach and lemon sauce. It was absolutely delightful. 2.Then we had poached egg in creamy pea puree and shaved with Belèer Knolle cheese. It was also one of my favorite dishes because it was so creamy and egg was a great addition to this dish. Also there were Bona crumbles sweet to balance the pea puree. 3. Next Paccheridi Gragnano halves with oriental veal ragout. unfortunately this pasta wasn't my favorite. It was too al dente and I am not used to such a thick uncooked pasta. We ask waiter and he confirmed that's the way it should be. Also too much peanuts overwhelmed the sauce and it felt you are eating sneakers. But I absolutely loved veal ragout sauce, it was rich with flavors and very nicely done. 4.Then our next dish was Red Mediterranean tuna with charcoal, teriyaki mayonnaise, cucumber and puffed rice with seaweed. It was the best cooked tuna that I ever tried. It was so tender and melting on my tongue. 5. Next was perfectly cooked Duck with cherries. I absolutely loved duck, it was cooked to perfection!!! 6. Pre dessert strawberry basil puree to refresh tasting buds and prepare for the dessert. 7. Vanilla cheesecake with apricot and carrot sorbet with prune compote. 8. And complementary truffle selection from Chef to congratulate us with our anniversary. Absolutely best anniversary meal. I also loved that service here was very open and nice. It was my first Michelin star experience and I didn't felt any snobbism, like in other restaurants in Milan for example. Nice presentation, and all dishes were properly described in English for us which is additional plus since my husband doesn't speak Italian. Absolutely worth the trip!"

"Some really cool vegan options (also vegetarian ones) : Fajitas, Burger, Sushis, Indian curry, starters like Guacamole, Hummus, Edamame, Miso soup etc. Food was beautifully presented in the plates, and was super yummy. Service was very friendly, in a great mood, and made an effort to speak our language as we weren’t speaking Italian. Thank you Sophie. Atmosphere super cozy. Good prices. Would definitely go again."

"The Tartare Burger by La Fermata is the best burger in the world and of all time. Point. If you are pregnant and need to avoid raw meat, Smash is excellent. A hair below, but still excellent, the household hamburger. Cisunami is a senseless exaggeration to be ordered only for fun purposes. It's possible that the rest of the menu is valid, but every time I go in, I have a moral obligation to order the Tartare Burger. The chips should be taken normal (without grain and without splashes of truffle oil). Coleslaw only if you have strange feelings of guilt about fried foods. The service is ok. Some waiters are friendlier than others, but who cares because only the Tartare Burger matters."

"Sono stato con la mia famiglia in questo locale e ci siamo trovati molto bene. Abbiamo mangiato i medaglioni di cervo, assaggiato il carpaccio di cervo al tartufo e per finire la torta di castagne fatta in casa.. tutto buonissimo.Le cameriere molto gentili, servizio veloce e il proprietario ci ha offerto caffé e digestivi.Anche se bisogna fare un po’, di strada per arrivarci ne vale sicuramente la pena. "Wie es so ist im Tessin mindestens einmal in ein schönes Grotto... Bei einer Fahrt mit dem Cabrio haben wir dieses entdeckt und für den Abend reserviert. Bei Ankunft war die Reservation irgendwie vergessen, man wollte uns als Paar an einen runden 6er Tisch setzten danach habe wir dann doch noch einen einigermaßen schönen Tisch bekommen. Als Beilagen gab es Kartoffeln, Risotto und Polenta auf der Karte. Beim Bestellen wurde uns dann mitgeteilt (wir waren sehr früh dort so gegen 8 Uhr und nur wenig Leute) das es weder Risotto noch Polenta mehr gibt Ausverkauft! Hallo? Das in einem Grotto? Nicht mal eine Erklärung dazu, oder das man mit Wartezeit auf ein Risotto warten kann, nichts! Gab es kein Reis mehr? Also ich verstehe das absolut nicht... Die Portion des bestellten Essens war klein, entsprechend schnell war das essen vorbei, der Service war solala. (Danach gingen wir nochmals essen, weil wir noch Hunger hatten.)Die Weinkacheln habe ich mit einem Aschenbecher verwechselt weil die Ränder abgeschlagen waren und die Glasur defekt war an x Stellen. Ein wirklich sehr enttäuschenden Besuch."

"The restaurant is strong, strong, strong, I swear to God, there is something amazing about the food, clean and the same cooking. They have amazing Indian food in its original form. I ordered it. 2 biryani, one masala, and a chicken curry with bread and 3 cola. My account is 160 francs, very expensive, but to be honest, there is no loss in the amount because it is something amazing. It has the food. The best Indian restaurant in all of Europe, and the view is beautiful. Its place is high in the mountain, with the lake beneath it"

"While staying in Lugano, we came for dinner as a couple in the summer. The location is beautiful with a direct view on the lake of Lugano. However, there is no outdoor area. The restaurant style is very classic with renaissance artwork. There was classical...music and sometimes even live music. We went for à la carte. There was a good selection of starters. As for the main, there were four fish alternatives and as many meat options. We had lobster ravioli followed by duck and veal. The meals were delicious and the presentations were outstanding. Portions were of a good size with two amuse bouche beforehand. As for the wine, there was a good selection of fairly priced local and foreign wines. The sommelier was very helpful. The service was good and we enjoyed to chat with the chef at the end of the dinner. For the quality and the location, the prices are very fair and we recommend this restaurant for special occasions."

"The pins (CHF 29.50) were really delicious and lots of them (photo pins for 3 people). The side dishes as well (I only ate potatoes but the other people with me told me that the polenta was very good). Average prices, really friendly staff, maybe just a little slow but there were only two waiters so I can understand."

"we were immediately conquered by the welcoming, well-furnished and well-heated environment and by the board with the few proposals of dishes, which in itself are a good sign. the expectations and the good predisposition was unfortunately disregarded by the kitchen. the red shrimp tartare was steep, and on this one can survive, but it was accompanied by a supermarket rice galley and two sauces of the great distribution we immediately recognized. the case wanted us to have just tasted them by friends and we had discussed it. pasta bundles were not homemade, as well as tiramisù. the lamb was well baked, but the heels cut in just boiled and seasoned, and the potatoes in cubes, cold and soft, remained sadly on the plate. when you decide to go to dinner in a restaurant you will expect dishes prepared by a professional cook, who tells us, love and work. What we have proposed would have been barely admissible in a bar of a sports plant. at much more price. sin."

"Wir waren als Familie dort und haben sehr gut gegessen. Leider war die Location zu dieser Jahreszeit etwas zu kühl. Wir sassen am Anfang mit Jacken am Tisch. Der grosse Kamin wurde angefeuert und im Laufe des Abends war es dann ok, jedoch nie so warm, dass man hätte sagen können „gemütlich“ .... schade. Die Bedingung war sehr nett, servierte jedoch auch in Jacke. Ich würde im Sommer sicher noch einmal wieder kommen. Der Blick von der Weinreben bedeckten Terrasse, über den See nach Lugano, ist wunderschön."

"During these times of Coronavirus I was looking for a burger delivery and this place is one of the few open and allows the delivery of food. The choice fell on the bombastic with the addition of egg in a Menù with frits and coke. Even if it was delivered, the burger came as it was just served by her counter. The rolls were not soggy, the meat was cooked with perfection and was perfectly matched with all the other ingredients: Cheddar, BBQ sauce, onion rings (very soft in their bread crust), bacon and roasted onion. Definitely recommended. Go on."

"We went to this place nights since it was in walking distance from our hotel. First night was perfect with organized service good wine recommendation, fantastic Filetsteak from bbq. With the other nights service was unorganized and it seemed to be a...lottery if you got your course or not. We saw our beef leaving the bbq and it never made it to our table. We ordered a second bottle of wine to pass time… that was nearly empty when we were asked if we wanted dessert… we then pointed out that we had not yet had our main course… next time I got my starter and my husband’s only came after an inquiry from our side. Long story short: the Service staff is in dear need of someone to organize them. Food, however, is very tasty and recommendable."

"Damals waren wir mindestens einmal in unseren Ferien in diesem Restaurant. Nun war ich vorläufig das letzte Mal dort. Die zwei Punkte rechtfertigen lediglich das zarte und leckere Fleisch. Wir bestellten Onion Rings - bekamen je vier kleine, lieblos angerichtete Ringe zum Preis von je 4 Fr. Dazu gab es nicht einmal einen Dip. Wenn schon Amerikanisch, dann richtig! Anschliessend haben wir Fleisch mit Country Frits bestellt (extra nachgefragt), jedoch eine mittelgrosse Ofenkartoffel mit sehr saurer Sauce bekommen. Da man die Beilage zusätzlich bezahlen muss, fand ich die Portion Kartoffel für 5Fr eine Frechheit. Das Personal hatte keinen guten Tag und als auf der Rechnung 7.50Fr für die fade Kartoffel verrechnet wurde, hat das uns echt enttäuscht (die ganze Situation). Wir haben das Personal freundlich darauf hingewiesen und mussten zuerst diskutieren, bis wir auf der Karte beweisen konnten, dass wie recht hatten. Echt mühsam, statt dass man kurz überlegt und selber nachschaut. Aber so ist es ja einfacher. Sehr schade, dass das Restaurant so abgenommen hat. Wir werden vorläufig nicht mehr kommen, da es in der Umgebung wirklich viele tolle Restaurants gibt. Und ein Steakhaus ist es auf keinen Fall. Bekannt ist und bleibt das Restaurant für ihre Pizzen."

"We were lucky enough to get there at 11.59 and get a table without reservations it was full by 1pm. Very nice staff, great wine recommandations, absolute perfect view, amazing antipasti (highly recommend the duck, polenta&truffles) as well as a perfect tiramisu. "Nice and expensive place! haha but we have to expect it given the area! We went with friends and tried the fondue chinoise, I must say that it is a very varied dish due to the various sauces and combinations that can be made, therefore promoted! You can reorder dishes such as rice and meat at will and there is the possibility of choosing, at the time of booking, the type of meat you will eat. "we came to this place for their bareness outside. because of the rain that has already ended, he has not worked anymore. we had to get into the facility. we weren't asked if we came to eat or drink. we came deliberately. for a drink, we ordered cocktails and talked. the waiters came to us several times and asked if we wanted to order. we answered politely that we would only drink. after that, an older waiter approached us, who forced us to order food. he began to be rude and said that it is a restaurant and we should eat here. we said we had no hunger and went into the bar, but unfortunately it was closed. to whom he replied that he was not interested in it and “It is not my problem”. I said we would finish our drinks and leave the restaurant. what happened next was something I didn't expect at all. he made us stand up and we were transferred to a cabinet behind the kitchen and taken out of the main room, although it was not packed.) we finished our cocktails in the back floor where only old things were and that was not made for guests) and were never even approximated. that's terrible. I didn't know how to look at this incident, but one of my friends from zürich told me that I would have called the police for such unbreeding and ignorance. I do not recommend this place to anyone. we were shocked by humiliation."
