"My wife I called here for lunch. We both agreed that the hospitality and food were disapointing. The staff were three young girls who looked bored and disinterested in their work. A further young lady leaning against the bar, and accompanied by two young children appeared to be either friend or off-duty staff who was engrosed in conversation with the 'working staff '. The topic of discussion seemed to relate to the the previous evenings excitment in the pub. In fairness, the girls performed the basic minimal duties nessecary to take orders and serve, but it was the inattentive distracted nature of their behavour that was the overwhelming impression. The food arrived, and it looked fair, but the breadbun was stale, and as my lunch consisted of fish fingers in a breadbun, this effectively destroyed the enjoyment. I only took one bite from my breadbun, and when the waitress sheepishly asked if we 'd enjoyed our food, I told her that the breadbun was stale. Her response was I 'll let the chef know When we left the restaurant and crossed the car park to our car, I looked back to see the three yourg male cooking staff on the upper floor staircase, smoking and gazing out over the carpark. I felt that the premises had been left in the hands of imature inexperienced young people who were more interested in their social lives than providing a warm welcome and great food. If you are a discerning diner wanting a reasonable level of service and a reasonable standard of food, I believe you will be disapointed."

"We had dinner here 10 days before Christmas, and the bistro being less than half full should already be a sign to the management that something isn't right. The menu is very limited and lacked imagination. We had 3 different dishes risotto, salmon and pasta, and chicken shawarma. Sadly the risotto was dry, lacked seasoning and taste, and had a slab of goats' cheese on top rather than adding flavour and moisture by being stirred throughout. It was similar with the salmon, with over cooked fish sitting on a pile of pasta. The shawarma was just very strange. The whole dish was something that could be pulled together with cupboard ingredients and the leftovers from yesterday's roast chicken and doesn't deserve place on the menu. The chicken had been previously cooked (it was obvious from the taste), and mixed with far too much chilli that destroyed any potential balance. They even managed to mess around with the pitta. Rather than serving puffed pittas that could be stuffed with chicken, it was cut into pieces and piled onto the plate as if it was just flatbread. If we had not been visiting with parents (that would have been upset) every dish would have been sent back to the kitchen and we would have gone elsewhere. The venue makes a lot of fuss about the pedigree of the chef, and even has large photos in the toilets (very odd). The menu and cooking however is that of an inexperienced or amateur team. The only factor stopping the rating being terrible is that they served good coffee while we sat in the lounge next to the real fire."
