"The dining room is elegant and tasteful. Our server was wonderful until he disappeared to serve other tables in the back. Then we had to wave somebody else down to get any kind of service. He did show up later to offer dessert but by...then we were quite done and wanted to leave. I’ll also add the we were seated at placed our orders by and were finally served by That’s a long time to wait. We did have bread served to us with a variety of butter and cheese but we aren’t big bread eaters and I have a dairy allergy and have to avoid cheese, utter and bread unless I know what ingredients are in it. The menu is varied and interesting but as soon as I mentioned that I had a dairy allergy, I was told that the only thing I could order was the risotto of sweet-sour pickled pumpkin with lamb’s lettuce pesto. They did offer to prepare a pork steak for me but it would have to be a plain fried piece of meat with no garnishments. For a fine dining restaurant, there is a lack of creativity in the kitchen. So I got the pumpkin risotto which was very good but had very little pumpkin flavor. Hubs got the roast venison with sautéed mushrooms, red cabbage and black bread dumplings except when his plate came out, they forgot to include the black bread dumplings. He had to wave down a server and it was brought out on a separate plate. His meal was drowned in this heavy dark sauce that it was difficult to taste anything else. Basically it just looked unappetizing. Once again, no creativity in the kitchen. Overall it was pretty underwhelming, especially considering the price and the elegant surroundings. It was our last night in Rothenburg and I wish we had gone somewhere more memorable to eat."

"We had been here a number of different times to eat in the last 3 years of living here in Germany and it had never failed to please us before, the service was friendly and timely. We went just yesterday and it was our last time going to Rothenburg before we move back stateside, it was busy, so we went inside hoping for a great last meal. We sat down and waited for our drink orders to be taken, and the server came out, apparently then noticing I was American and promptly turned around and went into the kitchen asking if anyone spoke englisch (ok he was afraid I knew NO german, I get it), but I CAN order in German, Sprechen zi kleine deutsch! Anyway, he came back out and I proceeded to order (albeit not in PERFECT german, but I was getting names of the food right), we had a little glitch but I thought it went smoothly, I ordered one drink for each member of my family and 3 meals (since neither of our children will eat a full meal themselves). We waited about 10 minutes and got our drinks, 20 minutes later, the people who came in about 5 minutes after us got their food, and food was FLYING out the door, 30 minutes, still no food, but food was flying by us to other tables and the waiter had time to seriously flirt with two asian girls in the restaurant, 40 minutes later, the waiter comes out and says "2 more minutes", my hubby is ready to put money down for the drinks and leave, about 5 or so minutes later our food comes out, literally as we are getting ready to pay for our drinks and leave. So we decided (as our children were both irritable and hungry) to stay, no explanation as to why we were pretty much THE last family to be served in the restaurant until after he picks up our plates. He then explains, in PERFECT english (I fully didn't expect it, honestly) that he got confused and that I had told him we wanted 4 plates of sausages (ummmmm NO...I did not!) supposedly that's why our food took so long, however it was all hot when it came out, even our children's kinderschnitzel und pommes (so needless to say it had NOT been prepared in a decent time and our order probably got buried). If we had time to go back we would not return to the Goldenes Lamm. We have never been made to feel so SUBLEVEL human as we were made to feel yesterday. I was SOOO disappointed, this very much used to be our "go to" restaurant, the food really wasn't even as good as it used to be, not too sure what happened there, but the changes they have made have not been for the better."

Simplemente no entiendo. Nunca volvería a comer aquí.

"Simply breathtaking.I’ve been to many hotels all over the world, in every category. I can honestly say I’ve never been to a hotel where every single possible detail is so thoughtfully considered. We were there almost a year ago, as a present to my partner for his birthday. Ever since we’ve been plotting excuses to make the 200km journey just to visit it once more.I don’t easily give good reviews as a minimum amount of research will show . Let’s start with the welcome: we were made to feel like we were the only guests in the hotel. Every effort was made to simplify and make us comfortable. The owner of the hotel took care of details himself without a moments hesitation, which others may have palmed off to staff. Our room was immaculately clean, and bursting with character. Here again, all possible details were considered. We used the sauna which was wonderful, then proceeded to dinner. Here, my hat really goes off to the chefs front of house. It was executed like an orchestra. The wait staff where completely knowledgeable about the dishes, how they were conceived, the ingredients, why a certain approach was taken. Our waiter really took us on a journey, but at the same time with the skill of being unobtrusive. The food was exciting, genuinely world class, and one could really sense with every taste the love labour from the chef.I’ve been to one, two and three Michelin star restaurants also great restaurants with no stars. I remain speechless at the fact that this restaurant has or had in September 2021 no stars. I am not overreaching when I say this place would be deserving of no less than 3.The hotel and especially the restaurant is quite expensive in all honestly. But this is a prime example of getting what you pay for.Kind regards, VERY satisfied customer who would gladly come again and again!! and recommend to all I know."

"Café Lebenslust is located directly opposite the entrance of St. Jacob's church. It attracted us as it stood in pleasantly calming contrast to the well filled tourist magnets on the marketplace and the Schmiedgasse. Ambience Cleanliness The interior produces the centuries-old building material of the house discreetly. It is harmoniously decorated with historical furniture and dietary sofas, there are some bookshelves and musical instruments on the wall as well as an interesting mix of images from different eras. Here was someone with attention to detail at work that created a creatively stimulating café house atmosphere. In front of the house there are a few tables on the walkway and there is a beautiful quiet courtyard under the open sky. Cleanliness was exemplary. The colleague from the service was kind and willing to explain the daily offer to us. He quickly disinfected our table and then he started soon. Everything went so smooth. Food Drinks The menu is mixed with pizza, flame cake, fresh bread with different spreads as well as salad and cakes. Here you get tired at noon and you can enjoy something sweet in the afternoon. We chose: · Warm bread with obatzda or red beet pulp. · Applestrudel with cream · Nussecke We drank homemade lemonade and ice tea. The two homemade bread varieties were very tasty and beautifully garnished with some vegetables and acidic cucumbers. Among them is a kernel rye bread that you want more. Especially the red beet paste was something else. The apple strudel was also very successful with thin dough and not too sweet filling. Very recommended. Fortunately, the nutneck is not as heavy and powerful as you sometimes get it. The two homemade drinks were also recommended as hardly sweetened and therefore very fruity. Conclusion A relaxed lunch in an oasis of breathing in a tourist, sometimes heavily laden city. A pleasant contrast to the lively Franconian gastronomy with unusual offer and friendly service."
