The restaurant has a variety of different settings from a patio area, to an indoor elegant dining, to a great buffet. The menu selections are vast and you can't go wrong whatever you order.

during the Christmas season this city is sold, like the restaurants. it was our luck to secure an early table in this restaurant. the food and service were excellent, and we highly recommend it.

had the breakfast in the iron hat. typical European breakfast with ice cream, sausage and broth. fruit and yogurt available. good opportunity to start the day and the view from the restaurant is great.

My wife and I visited this restaurant in December The dining room, the ambience and the service was excellent. We both had soup which was also excellent. We had wine by the glass and liked our selections. Our main courses were decent. Overall we...enjoyed our evening and thought it was an excellent value.

We were let down by our first choice restaurant but as it turned out, we were very thankful for that! It was a special anniversary for us years so of course we wanted a special evening to celebrate and weren't disappointed. The...food was really tasty; well prepared and presented. The service was excellent friendly, helpful, fast, non-obtrusive. The tables are set at a decent distance from one another. We had a great evening and would and will happily return!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal with traditional german food with an international twist. Asparagus is in season and there was a special menu for the vegetable and we both selected starters from this menu as well as mains from the main menu....The service was very good with helpful suggestions for food and wine.The service was very prompt and efficient without being overwhelming. Our food was well prepared and tasty. The chef’s tasting morsels were a wonderful addition to the menu.

smaller towns have actually not been rewarded by a restaurant that is rewarded with a certificate from the notation of the chaîne des rôtisseurs. this restaurant has. his distinction and the iron hat not disappointed. it is not what they usually think of...for a hotel restaurant in a smaller city. it is there and its deserves. our meals were two to none and service impeccable. from appetizer to dinner sweets they were absolutely phenomenal and affordable. both the hotel and the restaurant are a . the breakfast was prepared in the same dining room and its fare was just as good with a well ordered selection of meat, cheese, bread, sweets, chalk, yogurt, fruit and seasonal tasty.

Sure, restaurants have up and down times. Some days, it's just the breaks how well things end up going on a particular evening. Unfortunately, our recent visit to the Eisenhut was one of the not-great times. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening, mainly because...many other places around Rothenburg were closed that day. The dining room was very well-appointed, not crowded at all, the staff neat and generally helpful, and language was no issue. However, the service that evening was glacial, to the point of the meal consuming almost two and a half hours. The dining room is elegant and tasteful. Our server was wonderful until he disappeared to serve other tables in the back. Then we had to wave somebody else down to get any kind of service. He did show up later to offer dessert but by...then we were quite done and wanted to leave.
