"We booked in for afternoon tea after my daughter gifted me a voucher from their website for Mother’s Day. We visited on a very hot Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who took us through to the conservatory area where soft modern music was playing, sat us down at a table laid with pretty china plates and tea cups and took our drink preferences (tea or coffee). Drinks arrived within a few minutes together with a jug of iced water. Service was very relaxed but professional. They were very busy hosting parties, but our food was served about 35 mins after arrival. I’m sure it would be quicker if they hadn’t had parties to cater for. The savoury offerings were: finger sandwiches (egg mayo, ham tomato mustard, tuna mayo and cheese and pickle). warm sausage rolls and warm tartlets. The sweet ones: warm scones with ham cream, lemon tartlets and chocolate brownies. Everything was really tasty and plentiful. Extra tea or coffee could be had if desired but we got three delicious cups each from our teapot so needed no more. We had to take a doggy bag home with the cakes we couldn’t manage! All in all, it was lovely and I’d happily revisit. 1 star lost as the conservatory was uncomfortably warm despite air conditioning being on. Not really their fault as it was scorching out, but it made for a slightly less enjoyable stay. It would also be nice if you could choose your fillings? Just a suggestion to “up the game” and become the go to place for afternoon tea?"

"Had mixed experience here. Given 5 starts despite it wasn't great experience, however the outcome was worth the 5 stars . 2 adults 2 dogs. Chose this place as its dog friendly and ideal location for a pleasant walk/rest/food. Greeted on arrival and given instructions regards covid etc. We ordered drinks and food at the bar and we chose to sit/dine outside. They had a large party dining inside and we felt our puppies might be a nuisance. We were informed they had ran out of cups and spoons so would it be OK if served in paper cup and used a straw to stir it, not ideal, but agreed, however the pot washer came to the rescue and arrived with clean cups. We then sat outside a waiter then bought out complimentary bread and butter, but that was it, no plate or cutlery, so we went inside to ask for them. Then our main meals arrived, the portions I thought were from the children's menu, I had pork that was advertised as pork with crackling, apple sauce, roast potatoes and veg, 1 small slice of pork, the crackling was the size of my small finger nail, the veg was cauli cheese, which was one floret with no cheese, a table spoon of mashed swede and a few shreds of cabbage, one small potato that was cut into 4, all served on a plate the Size of a planet covered in gravy that had that lumpy microwaved look around the edges, oh and no apple sauce, the only thing I could do was look at my companion and laugh, her roast beef wasn't much different in size and appearance. When the waitress asked did we need anything else at this point we asked for the missing apple sauce and horseradish and possibly another side portion of vegetables. The food was nice, nothing spectacular, a standard Sunday dinner, but for the Size of the portions and at £30 I really expected more. Once we finished our meals we then were left sat with plates etc on our table for close to 20 mins, we had ordered puddings at the same time as our meal so really no need to be kept waiting for table to be cleared and desserts served, when the waitress finally arrived we cancelled the deserts expressed our concerns and asked to speak to the manager. Having explained the whole shambles of our visit, he could not have been any more understanding, was extremely apologetic, and agreed due to the extremely large party being catered for inside that standards had slacked, and it wasn't the normal at their establishment. The incident was mutually rectified. Would I eat here again?? Probably not, purely on price/portion size/quality of food. However you can not question the managers professional approach to customer satisfaction."

"First visit since new owners took over first impressions were positive. Now has table service which is friendly efficient. Prices are comparable to rest of Ironbridge (so don't expect cheap eats despite the rustic look , but dog friendly will be a positive for many people . Food looked nice, but as they didn't have any vegan dairy free cakes or even vegan spread , there's no website (only Facebook there's no allergen vegetarian vegan info on the menu, I can't actually comment on the food first hand as I didn't fancy dry toast! The menu says to ask for the allergen sheet, but how many people who don't have to do this anyway because of full blown allergies will bother when the place is busy. It's a shame, as simple changes such as vegan spread (eg Flora not even anything exotic! veggie vegan labelling on the menu would make it so much easier for customer waiting staff (who in fairness did go ask about options, though seemed flummoxed at being asked . If the Vegan Gluten free tags on Tripadvisor are left from the previous owners, they should be removed. If they are indeed current, better in house info is required. On a plus note got a decent pot of tea the loos are good including a disabled loo, though neither it nor the cafe itself are wheelchair accessible (not surprising given the ancient nature of Ironbridge generally, so this is a comment for info, not a criticism"
