"I have reviewed The Tally Ho before and given it nearly top marks, but on this occasion I have to admit to being in a quandary. We went for a Saturday evening meal and were very excited by the menu....everything looked promising. The welcome was excellent and the staff really, really good knowledgable, helpful, polite, engaged. So, I hear you thinking what 's the problem? The food was presented in a very Michelin star style and was tasty BUT the size of the portions was truly tiny. The scallops starter £9.50) had 2 scallops on the plate and a tiny piece of bacon. The mains were also tiny, being a bit savvy we had asked for a side of new potatoes to compliment our meal. My Ricotta dumplings were nice but I had 3 about the size of a meatball), with a serving spoons worth of ratatouille underneath. My husbands Duo of Duck was also tiny but very tasty). We were sitting thinking we had stepped into a parallel universe as everything but the presentation of the food was very ordinary the cutlery was wrapped in cheap paper napkins and the pub is very much a pub, the facilities very much what we expect in a pub......so perhaps to sum up we would rather the food was really good pub food and portions to go with the really smashing pub. This place just doesn 't suit the style of food it was selling. But we have heard Pizza nights are epic so will try again. We can 't fault the staff and food just the eye watering price for what we actually ate!!"

"1st impressions on arrival the restaurant and decor looked nice, had wanted to try Natraj for quite a while, we had the opportunity to try when friends invited us. We were seated at our table and menus and drinks ordered, staff didn’t seem very attentive and asking for a bottle of Bud was a rigmarole to say the least ! Then we wasn’t greeted by another member of staff to take the food order, he wasn’t friendly, and the rushed attitude and manner to which he did this was not pleasant. The food came out pretty quick and the temperature of my meal was warm, not as if it had been freshly prepared, it was ok but not as expected for a chicken Bhuna and pretty tasteless ?. A garlic Naan and a peshwari Naan came out in the same bowl, the staff member couldn’t even get which order they were in the bowl right. The dessert menu was presented and after saying we wouldn’t be having dessert, this was snatched away and pretty much was told the bill was coming, and the attitude from the staff was like we had outstayed our welcome and they wanted us out of an empty restaurant at 9pm on a Saturday night we sat down at gone 7.30pm ? What’s the rush, not impressed and won’t return again due to mainly the staff attitude and mediocre food. My wife this morning has a very bad tummy. The restaurant had vacant tables all evening, and we couldn’t understand why the untrained and not very attentive staff pushed the whole experience through so quickly, wasn’t as if people were waiting to eat, by 9pm we were the only ones in there on a Saturday night, had I walked past and looked I would of wondered why, but on visiting the answer is very clear ! Sorry but 1st and last experience for us."

"Went in with the intent of having a quick light lunch (sandwich) chose a BLT on white and a prawn and scampi tails Marie Rose on brown. One bite into the white artisan bread proved obvious that the bread was not fresh, it was dry and certainly not a ‘todays bread’ delivery, a brief and cursory look at the bottom crust proved this with more than SIX PLUS SPORES OF MOULD on it. Waitron did well to start a recovery process, “accidents happen” promising us fresh sandwiches. We’d been in near an hour before we got our second attempt at a quick lunch. The time was spent then looking deeper at our surroundings, a dirty table, dirty salt cruet pot, finger prints on the cutlery. The sandwiches arrived and still were dry, no butter, nor spread, the little gem lettuce looked like it needed CPR. We really believe the brown sandwich was the original one! We left half of it, it was poor by any standard. The waitron (who was lovely) couldn’t believe there was no butter until we showed her after the mould as well, she offered a full refund. I insisted on paying for the drinks, but left wondering whether this is Environmental Health reportable and is this Fullers Ltd practice of chasing down cost for increased margins at the detriment to customer satisfaction is and even after having a second chance accepting it was ok to fail again. Artisan bread (generally) has no preservatives, manage your food proposition and supplies accordingly. Last bit of advise to prospective customers, CHECK YOUR FOOD CAREFULLY BEFORE CONSUMPTION."
