"the best Indian food I have ever experienced! attentive and professional table service with a fluidity that our party of five totally suitable! pickles and poppadome were delicious, loved the record player and it was plentiful! the various tasty starters were polished with a lot of praise, mouthy delicious and full taste! then food warmers were placed on the table, followed by hot plates and a filling of food. we had chosen the delight (a creamy cocosnus and mango infunded creation! the peshwari naan (hot, crispy down and perfect as a curry club! cocosy and chips! the portion sizes were very generous and we ate until we could no longer make it, while we give a lot of praise for our delicious record players! bombay in beccles! we will see each other on the broads next time. we would have wished Indian food to house this caliber. great round experience from beginning to end and the bill average £20 per person! could eat it again tonight!"

"there will not be 5 stars, but surely guarantee 4 my icy bungalow was very good, very fresh fruity. my teepot was good hot delicious. the decor is very dated, but clean neat. good selection of hot cold aromas and desserts on display. superb looking cooked breakfast prepared as I waited for my snack. I almost changed my order! I've had breakfast. price is excellent the place was packed. as soon as we got up from our table, a few quickly jumped in, it really says. I look forward to a visit next time in the opposite. there will be no effort to search for alternatives."

"friendly atmosphere and a beautiful seating area next to the marina, it is a beautiful place for a drink and perhaps a bite to eat. the staff are polite and friendly and provide a very good, fast and efficient table service to provide a safe, socially distant environment. we had a nice couple of drinks and enjoyed the weather. but pavillons were built when the weather turned. a family-friendly place that was a very nice visit. a second time for a few drinks left behind and the margarita pizza was really delicious!"

"Being vegetarians on holiday in Soutwold looking for a good lunch/dinner, we walked up one side of the main street and down the other, looking for a reasonably priced eatery. Opted for Squiers who offered an all day breakfast and was told they do a vegetarian option. When we got inside there was a 'special of the day ' board, and it was offering a nut roast, which we opted for. WOW, a nut roast with a selection of 8 vegetables, beautifully cooked and delicious, £9.95. If this had been on the board outside, vegetarians would have been fighting to get in the door. Squiers, let people know what vegetarian options you offer. Thank you for a really delicious dinner, but you could have saved us some footfall if you had advertised your vegetarian options outside, we could have chosen you much sooner."

"We revisited The Plough after dining there in December 2017 and had another delicious meal. After reading various reviews, it's hard to predict what your own experience will be like, but we would definitely recommend giving it a try. We ordered the Hunters Chicken and another chicken dish with seasonal vegetables and a creamy mushroom sauce, both of which were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We also enjoyed the Timothy Taylor's beer, which seems to be exclusive to this pub as no other pub further east in the country sells it. Overall, a satisfying dining experience."

"We visited this restaurant for the fourth time a couple of days ago for a late lunch. It was the first time we brought our 9-year-old son and he had a great time. I ordered the roast chicken dinner, my husband had the shepherd's pie, and our son had chicken nuggets with chips, peas, and gravy. The portions were huge and delicious, but we couldn't finish them all. We also indulged in dessert - I had an Eaton mess and my husband had Banoffee pie, which we managed to finish. As our bill was over £26, we were given a free bottle of wine, which was a nice touch. I must also mention the lovely lady, Sila, who made us feel very welcome. She took the time to chat with us, even though she was working alone. We felt like more than just customers, we were treated like friends. It really makes a difference when people go the extra mile. We will definitely be returning soon."

"Stopped there for breakfast this morning while strolling along the North Sea wall. There was six of us and two dogs. The owner was very welcoming and suggested we eat in the indoor part. What a surprise, very nicely laid out and very comfortable The food was excellent and good value, even had treats for the dogs. We have been several times before and will definately be returning."

"It would have been nice if the children's menus were already on the table as we had previously mentioned having two children during the booking. Our waitress had to go ask what the soup of the day was, which was a bit annoying. It would have been more professional if she had greeted us with the soup of the day and children's menus without us having to ask. While waiting for the soup information, I enjoyed the lovely seafront location with a clear view of passing boats. The restaurant was nicely decorated, and the outdoor seating on the seafront seemed like it would be pleasant on a summer day. However, the smell of smoke coming in whenever someone entered or exited was off-putting. When we ordered, they asked if we wanted the children's meals to come out with our starters, which was convenient. However, I was not happy when the waitress placed my 2-year-old's hot plate directly in front of him, despite warning us it was very hot. This was unprofessional and unsafe. The soup I ordered was more like tomato puree and very salty. It was served in a rustic pot with bread, but the soup was disappointing. My husband enjoyed his whitebait, and the children's meals seemed cheap and not very appetizing. My Belly of Pork was fatty, and the skin was solid instead of crispy. The garlic mash was average, and the vegetables seemed frozen. My husband enjoyed his Classic Combo, especially the tandoori chicken, but agreed that my meal and the children's dishes were substandard. The drinks were okay, but my husband's Bitter shandy was flat. The bill for the family of four with two courses each came to £76, which would have been reasonable if the food had been better. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and would not return. The staff need better training, especially when it comes to serving hot food to children. I will not recommend this restaurant to my friend who was considering it for her wedding venue."

"Always wanted to try this place, so gave it a go today. Staff are nice but more interested in talking to there friends, even though they had customers waiting to be served. We sat down and was told someone would come over and take our drinks order, waited ten minutes before she came over. When asked what ales or larger they had on, got told we only have one ale on and one larger on. Drinks then came five minutes later, placed food order as thought it would be a good idea. An hour had passed and we had to chase our food order, got told it will be coming out in five minutes. When the food arrived it wasn’t that warm, but by this time we just ate it. 1, service was poor2, table booked for 13.00, food came out at 14:203, staff only wanted to know you if you’re friends of there, 4, if you’re not in a rush to get served or eat food on time, then you’ll like this slow service5, won’t be trying this place again"

WE MADE UP OUR OWN PLATTER, INCLUDING, MELT IN THE MOUTH, CHICKEN SATAY SKEWERS, CRISPY SEAWEED, SUCCULENT RIBS, ETC. WE HAD THE CRISPY DUCK, HALF, ENERMOUS PORTION ON DUCK, BEAUTIFULLY COOKED. "Overnight stay while on business but made my trip most enjoyable. I have rated 5 star as everything was excellent apart from breakfast service not starting until 08:30am. The room was well equipped, plenty of plug points. Loved waking up to see the sunrise. Room was in an outbuilding at back of property which made it quiet and ideal if you have dog (this particular room was dog friendly). May not be so quiet when pub garden is full but on the upside lovely place to sit right outside the room. Ate in pub food excellent"

"'The Three Cooks ' have now expanded into 'Castles Inn ' on Earsham Street. They are currently doing a special Thai curry night on the last Wednesday of the month and we attended this last night. The food exceeded expectations I can especially recommend the special combination (4 different curry 's) which offered a wide range of interesting and contrasting flavours on one plate. The dining area has a 'no frills ' feel to it, but the food was very fresh and authentic. Despite the restaurant being full the staff worked hard to ensure quick and efficient service. Great value for money also. Definitely worth a visit."

"My husband and I have eaten here several times. The food here is excellent, we always forgot to have a starter and main or a main and dessert as all three are just a little to filling. The only critisum I have about the menu is it doesn't change that often.I know the restaurant is trying to be modern but I do miss seeing a nice crisp table cloth and linen napkins in the evening, I do think this is a must. The other thing I feel the place lacks is atmosphere, the bar area is very friendly but the restaurant is a bit cold.Having said all this I will visit again and again."

"we had a family day today at abbey. we haven't eaten on the pier for years, so we thought we'd let it go. I must say that my pee and chips were probably one of the best fish and chip meal times I've ever had. sweet, beautifully cooked fish, light scattering and beautiful chips. we had a mixture of crooked, cadry and chips, chicken pussies and shlits and chips and all have deleted their teller. there were many nice little touches. large, rectangular plates, a real quartered lemon to press on the fish, a jug of hot water to keep the teekanne running, beautiful porcelains and sauces and big bags of stokes sauces. great view and the staff were nice and helpful. we really enjoyed it and will certainly go back there when we are in abbey. highly recommended."

"Booked last minute one room left Standard room spotless clean and hotel done nicely. But room so small not a single shelf to Put anything on in bathroom or room why have posh mirror no shelf had to struggle with my makeup and cleansers leaving on the floor. Shower door stuck had to call my husband to get me out. No where to sit only bed which we had to squeeze past to wardrobe. Very disappointed with breakfast solid poached egg soggy bread not any nice fruit to have with cornflakes which most places have. My husband enjoyed his But must say lovely friendly helpful staff Good location"

"Was recently recommended to try this tearoom. Looked on their social media page to check opening hours and turned up today without a booking. it didn't say you need to book or just do roast dinners on a Sunday). Myself and 80 year old...mother travelled purposely from great yarmouth and were treated like we had just landed from another plant. There was a hand written sign placed behind a pumpkin at floor level that was partly covered but said they were fully booked. We were disappointed but I thought beings we had travelled so far and I could see one table wasn't being used, I would enquiry anyway. When I opened the door everybody was eating and I must say the food smelt lovely but everyone just stopped and looked at us as if I had grown another head!. What seemed like several seconds one of the ladies on the table who were eating finally asked, if I can help you I said I thought you might be booked but was there any chance of a table. One of the other ladies eating with her and several others on her table, looked at each other and did get up to look at her book, but the worse part of the experience was a Gentleman and I use the term loosely), said mumbling under his breath but loud enough so I could hear, There's a big enough sign outside telling you we are fully booked I heard him and answered back that we had travelled all the way from Great yarmouth and thought we would try. The lady to be fair who was checking her bookings asked if we were going to have a roast dinner and I replied, no we hadn't planned on a roast. She politely explained that they only do roasts on a Sunday doesn't say on their Facebook page). I said thank you and we would try another time. Thinking about it I wouldn't ever return because the gentleman!!! Wasn't friendly and quite rude with his comments and I got the impression that the place is very clicky. Everybody looked like they were enjoying their meal, to be fair I can't judge on the food and by all accounts the food etc is supposed to be very good, but woe betide you if you turn up without a booking but don't mind having sarcastic comments thrown at you."

"Very surprised to find such a wide choice of pasties this far from Cornwall. Spiced Cauliflower and onion bhaji flavour, cheese and onion, Thai chicken and steak and Stilton plus, of course, traditional Cornish. Mine was well stuffed with content. No empty pastry here! All...was served in a pleasant cafe with outdoor seating. Some very nice cakes on offer too. The dishwasher was broken when we visited so it was cardboard cups and wooden cutlery. Other establishments please take note no plastic!"

"I had a lovely meal with a big group in 2023. We went early in the day and were the only table, despite that it was a nice experience. I have been looking forward to returning for an early birthday dinner with my Mum. I was unfortunately very disappointed with the service, we are patient people but felt like we were being purposefully overlooked. The food and ambience was fabulous though and it felt let down by the indifferent service."
