Welcoming and helpful staff who were ready to speak English if necessary. The food was excellent… I had the 4 course truffle menu, and although expensive, it was worth the money.

We were walking around the old town when we came across this amazing little place to stop and eat. You can sit outside or in an amazing little vaulted room. The staff were happy to accommodate a table of 6 and we had a very nice meal along with a glass of very nice Red. The fish was superb as was the risotto. Make it a place to visit when you are in town. We plan to come back in a few weeks. Ver carta

Everything was perfect, the decor, a very romantic setting,, I was so impressed with the stone interior of the building with its arches and the decor that I started by taking photos of it all! The wine, Japanese gin, (a 1st for me) the food and service were excellent, a restaurant to return to! Great menu, for the moment the specials were truffle based, lots of choice, something for everyone. Excellent!

The restaurant opened a couple month ago --- our first visit was a smashing hit;The food was incredible, Truffels added just as it should be made the plates a star kitchen experience. The setting in a gothic environment added to our pleasure and to top it the personnel was professional, efficient and friendly. The prices are rfeasonable for the food you get and they have an affordable wine list.As far as I am concerned we have a new top chef - top place in the city

Do not pass this by! Not easily spotted if wandering Montpellier streets aimlessly looking for a meal. If you had done your research you would already know how great this eating experience is - we had not but we struck so lucky. Restaurant 1789 tucked away behind the main city hall in a small square, on the corner of a small side ‘impasse’ alleyway. Looked like a classy street-side cafe and as Saturday lunchtime was slipping away - they eat early - we went in and were seated at a table behind clear awnings almost on the street. Wow! Such a wonderful food, quality and presentation and delightful helpful staff. We had lovely wine by the glass from a selection - we were well pleased with their... Ver carta
