"We did not book, but it was low season and very early evening. The restaurant was opened at 7 p.m. We arrived at 18.45. Behind the bar was a woman with glasses. After all, a waiter arrived. They started playing cards behind the bar, back to us, over the bar. 7 o'clock approached. They continued playing cards. Every time we saw them through their closed door, they laughed and made us feel very uncomfortable. We waited until 7.15 and left to eat another restaurant. I found this behavior unacceptable, illuminated and finally we just wanted to eat something. I looked at the restaurant when we were out in the cold. It looked nice. We went to another restaurant at the other end of la rue Ferte, called la Ferte, and the reception we had was completely different. Although we preferred the L’Ardoise menu, we were warmly welcomed and had a super meal with very hard working employees. I usually don't write reviews, but feel like the non-chalant and unprofessional behavior of the two people who have left us, supposedly a restaurant, in the cold, far beyond their opening hours, continue playing cards and laughing at us."

Nice place with good food. Very good service and accommodating with our young baby. I'd recommend it as a good place to get fresh fish

There is only a limited chocice but the food is locally sourced and of excelent quality. Whatever you do, leave room for a dessert. If you can book ahead, then try to get the window table and watch the sun go down.

Not our first choice in St Valéry so expectations were not too high but it was fine. Limited options but products seemed fresh and were well prepared. We had a very good dinner. Staff were friendly as well. Would go there again if in the area.

The reviews that come first do not do this restaurant justice. The menu is simple, but fresh. The service is not gushing, but very friendly. The beer and the glass of wine were excellent. The deserts had to die. Very cheap. If I gave 5 stars, they would probably get that. Ver carta

Probably one of the best meals I ever had in northern France. We visit Le touquet frequently and are used to tourist food...... Not here, service was excellent food, has limited, but also excellent. Wine top of the class. Would highly recommend this restaurant. No more Le touquet for us, bit further down the coast from now on.

We had a lovely evening here during our recent stay - great food, friendly and professional service and a nice atmosphere. The restaurant and its menu stands out from the others in Saint Valery. The choice is limited which means everything is freshly made. The desserts in particular were delicious. It's worth booking as we did to get the table in the window overlooking the bay. Highly recommended!

The place is cosy and the service is really good. We had tuna tartare for starters. The presentation was very refined and the taste was out of this world. The main dishes were good (salmon for my partner and some meat for me) but the starter remained on the top. Then we shared a crème brulée with orange zest. It had an unusual and enjoyable taste. I recommend this place, the overall experience was quite good. Ver carta

At 6-45 the outside lights were on and the door was open. It was raining strong and we came to say they were opened around 7. I have mobility problems and have a walking stick. We asked if we could have a drink and wait for the opening. Behind the bar was one of the most rude women I've ever met, she said, "We open at 7" When they were closed, why were the outside lights on and why was the door unlocked? Scary customer service. Isn't she there to make money?

Nice atmosphere, friendly service, good food...menu is very simple and stands on a black board (ardoise). I don't know how often they change the dishes but when we came there were either lamb dishes or fish dishes. Not fully suitable for small kids or kids (again due to the menu). All starters and main dishes were fresh and tasty but will probably not go back due to the menu. I think we were just lucky that we found some suitable dishes to our party of 6 people. Desserts were average.Busy place located on the main street of St Valery. Booking recommended.Minus : no cheese available thought it was presented on the black board (pity when there are 3 cheese shops on the same street!)

Divin breuvage qui me sera offert gracieusement. Si on a adoré, on aurait aimé découvrir d’autres subtiles combinaisons.
