Abaco - Carta

A lovely restaurant just round the corner from Les Catalans beach. Food delicious, friendly waitress. Chef came out to check we were happy too which was a nice touch.

Wife and I had a delicious bouillabaisse here. We did not try anything else and were both so full after it. It was very quiet that night but was perfect as the great waitress took time to talk us through the dishes and we had a chat to the chef. Definitely recommend it. Ver carta

We arrived around 19.30 on a thursday, what seems early in Marseille. The restaurant was still rather empty and we got a warm welcome by the owner/cook and waitress. The children got special attention and some coloring material was improvised. The bouillabaisse was very good, the children got a very big and tasty hamburger. Overall a very nice evening for the family.

We chose this restaurant for a quiet meal away from the port area. Do as the locals and share a starter because the portions here are very generous. I had the squid entrée which a party of four locals shared! The food was delicious but we were unable to finish either main meal. The waitress speaks very good English if you need a translation of the blackboard menu. Recommend if you want to eat like a local.

This great little restaurant in Le Pharo was our first taste of Marseille. Here's hoping the rest of our experiences are just as good. The risotto gambas was great and the fish soup a real treat. And don't miss the mandarin tarte for dessert. A little (or a lot) of French is always helpful, but between my poor French and the better English of the woman serving and the chef (owner?) we got through. We had a very enjoyable evening and recommend Abaco to anyone interested in some great authentic local cuisine. Ver carta

The delightful, helpful waitress advised us to share a starter - thank goodness we did, particularly as we had arrived hungry and snaffled up the delicious tapenade and bread offered. My husband's main course of bouillabaisse was superb and my sea bass was delectable. No room for pudding. It was so good that we went back the next night! The patron himself is a lovely, gregarious chap and happy to spend time chatting with his clients. Highly recommend this friendly, unpretentious little place with food that matches that offered in much more expensive, impersonal restaurants in the area.

We had an excellent time at this restaurant. I ordered the burger and fries (i'm not very classy) and my wife ordered the bouillabaisse. Everything was delicious and the chef and waitress were very friendly. There english was not that good, but we managed, since it was an intimate setting, we got the attention we needed very easily. The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there and by the time we left only three other couples had come in, locals. Also being by the water we took a sweet walk by the ocean front first and then walked about five minutes here. I know if I lived in Marseille, it'd easily make one of my favorite restaurants; something for everyone.

This restaurant was recommended tours by Edouard, from whom we rented our flat. He was not wrong! We booked in advance but it was quite quiet on a Tursday evening around 1900hrs. We were welcomed by Marianne (?) the daughter of the house. A simple but nicely set out family owned restaurant..... ,not busy at this time of the evening so lovely and tranquil for eating in a relaxed but professional environment. I echo previous reviewers comments. We went for the Bouillabaisse and we were not disappointed. The price was reasonable, the dish was fantastic!!! And the hospitality was second to none though not posh. If you want posh there are other restaurants, if you wantserby food in a low key but... Ver carta
