Afternoon Tea At Clare House

The whole family enjoyed eating lunch here. Service was quick and friendly. Food came in decent portions – worth every penny.

We sat outside as we had the dog. We enjoyed a lovely light lunch. A couple of coffees, a sandwich and some loaded fries. Great food in beautiful surroundings.

What a fantastic place to eat and sit and watch the bay. We had a wonderful afternoon tea outside. Nothing was too much trouble. They catered for our dog with plenty of water and so much care and attention to cleanliness I highly recommend Clare House for a family lunch, event etc.

We celebrated a delightful 60th Birthday lunch for family friends at Clare House. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was lovely, and the staff provided excellent service. To top it off, the sun finally came out and we were able to enjoy our meal outside. What more could we ask for?

I found the Sunday lunch to be delicious, but the portion sizes were quite small, particularly for the main course. When the menu mentions sprouts and roast potatoes, I would expect more than just one small potato and one and a half sprouts (which were pan-fried and resembled bullets). The vegetable puree was only the size of a teaspoon, and I had to scrape the plate to find the chestnuts. It would be necessary to order all three courses in order to feel even slightly full.

We absolutely adore Clare House and every time we go, it just keeps getting better and better, if that's even possible! We recently had dinner there again on a lovely evening and started off with pre-dinner drinks in the sitting room while deciding on our meal selections. The menu offered a wide variety of options for everyone. The service was top-notch, the food was outstanding, and the prices were very reasonable. It's our favorite spot for lunch or dinner whenever we're in the area. Definitely a must-visit!

My group was searching for a good spot for lunch and stumbled upon Clare House Hotel. Even though we were not staying at the hotel, we were warmly welcomed from the minute we entered until we departed. We enjoyed tea and sandwiches in the lounge, which had a stunning view. The sandwiches were delicious, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. The service was top-notch - attentive and friendly, with a professional touch. Clare House Hotel truly felt like a hidden gem, and we look forward to returning whenever we can.

I recently visited this restaurant and was very impressed. The atmosphere was charming and the staff were attentive and welcoming. The afternoon tea we enjoyed was elegantly arranged and worth every penny. The assortment of sandwiches, desserts, and other goodies was the perfect size to satisfy our hunger, and each item was scrumptious. We had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to returning for another afternoon tea experience. We also took a peek at the dinner menu, which looked amazing, so we will definitely be back for a future lunch or dinner date.

We have been promising ourselves to return to Clare House for dinner since we had afternoon tea there earlier in the year. We enjoyed the restaurant when we had lunch there last year and couldn't wait to try their dinner service. We were certainly not disappointed! There are hand sanitisers both outside the main door and at the entrance to each room. The staff all wear masks and the tables have been carefully placed to meet the social distancing rules.
