"Heard that this was one of the better places in Edinburgh to visit if you wanted a good cocktail. So this is were we headed. On approach it looks very posh (well it is in George Street) and inside the decor is rather grand if a little open and cold. No doubt this works well on weekends with large groups. We ordered some bar nibbles roast nut mix and the marinated olives. Good sized bowls and rather tasty with the cocktails. I was pleasantly surprised with the cocktails, they are a decent size with a good whack of alcohol. For approx £8 a cocktail you would hope so, but I've paid more for a lot less. We started of with two Brambles and then slowly worked our way through the menu. The Bramble cocktail is gin, lemon juice and Creme du Mure served over crushed ice with a slice of lemon and a hint of blackberries. It was lovely! We managed to get a nice seat in the corner by the window and spent the night listening to the DJ, sipping cocktails and talking nonsense. A fabulous way to spend a Friday evening."

we got a great table and respected the highest standards. the menu is not extensive or special. we had the burger, not bad, but not great. all in order. would have expected something special in the presentation, garnish and more than just the slightly obvious frozen chips.

the printing press bar kitchen is located in the george street and takes the former house of susan ferrier, a highly praised Scottish romantic from the 19th century. before I traveled to edinburgh, I have made some researches into restaurants and cheap reviews of this restaurant appearing again and again. the restaurant offers modern Scottish cuisine in a casual environment.

Absolutely awful. No sanitizer in the dispenser. Slow service, incorrect order and when we pointed out the errors were ‘huffed’ at. No atmosphere and no Xmas decorations inside. Poor choice of cocktails and expensive even for the area. Sad as the last time I was there pre covid had a lovely meal exciting theatrical cocktail and great service. Would not rush back and certainly not recommending. Ver carta

Fine food and lovely place. I had the chicken breast with creamy mash potatoes , cabbage and wild mushroom. It was absolutely Devine, especially the gravy The cod croquette were well balanced in flavour with just the right amount of salt the enhance the flavour of the cod I had the chocolate fondant with a soft vanilla Madagascar I think) ice scream scoop. It wasn’t special but still enjoyable

We decided to pop in here for a Christmas eve meal as it looked lovely and shiny! I was gutted to have missed the Printing Press launch event a couple months ago so was really pleased to finally check it out. In my usual fashion, I ordered a cocktail the last word which was good but quite potent. Husband went for an Innis and Gunn beer. For our mains, I chose the mince and tatties and husband went for the dry aged highland beef burger. I was surprised by how flavoursome the mine and tattoos were absolutely divine and not what you'd expect with a bog standard version of mince/tatties. I had a bite of the burger too and it was good. The chips were beautifully cooked and tasty too. I thoroughly...

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
