"I have been today in this restaurant with my whole family. The place is indeed charming, it has a very cool retro style and its in one of the few italian restaurant in the center of chinatown. My expereience at the “vecchio porco” has been not a very happy one. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco (35€ the waiter didnt even make me try it first after opened it. he didnt ask me if was good or not, he just served it in everyone glasses. Also my granma, didnt really drink wine, we just ask a bit of house red, because she just drink half glass with a bit of water. They said yes and after come back with half a liter red wine .... the cost? 12€ ... I mean the could have say something. I dont want to be too harsh... , the food is ok... but personally the problem is this “ok quality” related to the extreme expansive prices. When I pay 26€ for a Cotoletta I immagine it as a huge one...(helepant ear but in the end it was just normal. My chicken on the grill was very dry...no herbs, no sauce.... nothing. Dont know if I just had bad luck or it wasnt the right day for the restaurant, but Im sure for me this was my first and last experience at a probably “too old” pork."

excellent risotto with saffron and asparagus and cutting, ossobuque and cotoletta. Maybe a little high prices, but one night in Milan has no price.

Delicious, the Ravioli dessert must taste. All we got was great, and the service was good. Beautiful outdoor seating, covered with vines. Good for groups. Ver carta

Beautiful outdoor space , very cosy. Food was nice but price way too high for what it was. I hadn’t been there in years and wanted to try it again but I wouldn’t go back.

nice local, the only remaining of Italian tradition and level in chinatown, you eat well. But always the same menu for years, some prices too high (28 euros the ossuage), if not mistaken you also pay the covered, embroidery on excessive wines, and eventually eat well, but think you have paid 20% more. and also the additional slice of cheese you ask, is always paid.

The food here is wonderful, and the service is warm and welcoming. The restaurant is located directly across from the Hotel Leonardo in the heart of Chinatown. As another person noted, they have a pig theme going on that's related to the restaurant's naming (to which there's a story--you'll have to ask when you go). The serving sizes are not American-like, but that's fine. We didn't feel bloated after our late-evening meal and were able to enjoy dessert afterwards. The house wine is also very delicious and affordable. Don't overlook this place. It's a wonderful establishment that offers a quaint European dining experience. We'd definitely go back!

"Visited months ago The label of a vegetarian restaurant absolutely does not correspond to what Joia represents in the Italian gastronomic panorama. We are talking about the maximum expression of haute cuisine, overwhelming ideas, bold and unexpected combinations, exceptional raw materials, all served in an exclusive environment suitable for providing customers with a fantastic experience. Chef Leemann showed up in person to take the order and give his suggestions on the sequence of dishes. The service staff has always proven to be very prepared to answer all our questions or curiosities about the dish itself and this knowledge was not only the heritage of the waiter who brought the dish to our table and described it to us, but of all the staff who, even randomly, we stopped to ask for further explanation! The wine list was excellent from which we chose a Barbera d 'Alba by Bartolo Mascarello. But let 's get to the food. As entrees... and calling them entrees is definitely limiting! We were offered 2 wonderful tastings which unfortunately I cannot remember in their composition, but the first was a cream with carrot and rhubarb served in a mini terracotta vase, while the second appeared like a palette of colors where some fantastic raw materials sauces could be combined manually. My lunch then began with the Cantiam la montanara where, under a soft celery foam, there was a composition of green asparagus, spring onion and truffle on chopped borlotti beans. Fantastic dish, sublime with exceptional aromas!. I then continued with The navel of the world , a wonderfully plated dish where two types of rice are used, one as a base made with asparagus and watercress, and in the center a Venere rice cake finished on top with saffron almond cream . Finally I closed the lunch with a selection of 8 cheeses, some of which were truly exceptional, accompanied by jams/honey. Obviously the bill is in line with the proposal and with the experience. I must say that it was truly a pleasure and an honor."
