"The Adria Restaurant opposite the Melaten cemetery. It feels like home. The old Melaten impresses with its sturdy, cozy look. You should feel at home here as soon as you enter the friendly service. The waiters must be highlighted here, who are always attentive in the very well maintained restaurant and fulfill the wishes and demands of the guests. The menu offers a good selection of dishes mainly connected to the Balkans. But there are also some other Mediterranean delicacies, as well as some from German cuisine. So it should be something for everyone. The portions in the old melodies are really big and you get something for your money. The presentation does not correspond to a high kitchen, but is nevertheless visually appealing. But the most important thing is, it tastes. Whether the Cevapcici, the steak from the grill or the Djuvec rice. And the taste is ultimately decisive. The wine and spirit drinks menu offers some courtesies from the Balkans as well as a usual soft drink and spirit drinks mix. But you can't expect an amarone or even Palacios Priorat L'Ermita. The simple design of the restaurant would not fit. The price/performance ratio is more than very good in view of the lush shares. Nobody's hungry. So, if you don't expect a high-end cuisine, especially for good and tasty food in a cozy, family atmosphere, then the old medulla is just the right one."

My husband has been eating here for almost 40 years, and it has become a “must” whenever we’re in Cologne. They couldn’t be friendlier, and the food never disappoints. Not a trendy hotspot, but definitely worth the visit!

Wonderfully friendly people here, although NO English menu or English-speaking servers/host. Quaint neighborhood atmosphere where the locals go. We had a tasty onion soup & the host sent over sweet, fruity after-dinner cordials.

The Alt Melaten certainly does not offer absolute top cuisine, but very good quality at a very fair price. The selection is plentiful and the intentions should be saturated. The staff is very service-oriented, partly funny and always beautiful. The combination of a bowling evening with subsequent food is particularly good. I can only recommend this place.

We discovered this spot while staying in a nearby apartment recently. This district is off the beaten track but still has easy access to city transit.Although the Adria is a small restaurant with virtually no street presence (due partly to current construction on this block), it is a real gem. The food is excellent, service is terrific, the atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly .

Small champagne reception only 8 champagne glasses, the remaining 3 in plastic glasses No possibility that we sit together with 15 people Saladdressing is accepted to get a part of home suit that served other vinegar / oil 5 food, when 11 people already finished glasses were not deleted operation hardly felt three times at the table to order drinks Desserts were no longer in demand No card payment possible So we don't go there anymore.

I had an excellent diner. A nice cordon bleu and the best fries I've ever had. Do you know those restaurants with pictures of plates where the amount of fries is almost hiding the main course? I usually throw the fries aside first and go to the steak beneath. But here, the fries are so damn good that I couldn't stop eating them. What did they fry them in, goose fat? Extremely nice! The cordon bleu was well filled with cheese and just as good! There's only one downside. The only accept cash like so many restaurants in Germany. That is annoying for me, since I can't do cash because I am here for business and I need receipts and such. They let me walk for 1km after dinner, just to find an ATM....
