a restaurant that is very good for lunch! a rather fast service, a copyy meal and a price that remains accessible, and I will add a good quality.

Good wine, good food and friendly staff. We only went for an aperitif but ended up staying for dinner as the atmosphere was nice and staff very welcoming.

We had 2 dinners at Alto Gusto during our brief visit to Aix. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful. The food is distinctive, with big portions. Wine good too.

We stayed in the Odalys Apartments above the restaurant and thought we would eat here in the morning for convenience with the kids. Whilst Alto promised a hot breakfast both mornings we tried the food had ran out and staff would not replenish. Service wasn't that friendly or helpful and a little upset at our request.

We have eaten for dinner in this restaurant during our stay in Aix en Provence. The food has been delicious and the service fast. We enjoyed the good weather at the tables on the terrass. It is located near the main street but its position also guarantees tranquility. I recommend the "gnocchi al pomodoro". The restaurant has baby chairs.

Can't believe it took 1h45mn to get our lunch menu served. Worst was that they openly admitted that the CEO of the hotel got there a few minutes after us with 8 others and they got preference and served before we did.Food was OK: good mozzarella for the tomato salad and the gnocchi were a bit overcooked. Food deserves 3*, service deserves 1*, hence the 2* rating.

We arrived late into Aix last night so our dining options were limited. Alto was recommended as a good pizza option that would be open late but when we arrived we were told the pizzolo was sick that day. Undaunted, we ordered salads (good) hamburgers (great) and a couple entrees (tasteless and boring). The service was very good and the restaurant is clean but we all wished we could have had pizza!

On reading the menu outside, we read that the restaurant opened at 6.30pm for dinner. It was 7.20pm so we went inside. The friendly waitress said that they were not open until 7.30pm but that we could have aperitifs. The owner or chef called over to her and said , ". Don't serve them'. We are three art- loving sixty year olds with no history of any delinquent behaviour.....we obviously did not return!!!!

A few steps from popular Rue d' Italie, this restaurant is a rare gem! There are loads of Pizza establishments in Aix en Provence, but I find the toppings or crust stale, bland and unsatisfying. Those other establishments are directly in the city centre so you're paying top dollar for mediocre food.A hop away on Cours Gambetta is Alto Gusto, a family owned restaurant with a great ambience. Each staff member offers great service, and you do feel welcome in a non-pretentious environment.I've heard the main courses are just okay, but I can vouch that the pizzas are unbelievable! Fresh done to order pizzas that are done in less than 10 minutes. Very high quality toppings . My favourite is the in...
