"we had expected that the personal in a restaurant in a city surrounded by weinbergs, in the position to offer a advice about wein in the menu. when we asked the staff to recommend, she only said that they served red, white and rose. we also noticed that they had napa valley wein on the menu. in most napa valley restaurants they offer napa valley wein, not mosel reisling. because we don't know much about the German wein, we asked for pils instead. we were not asked if we wanted big or small glasses, but we thought we were gonna get the big glasses. as it turned out, we were wrong and we have very small glasses. we waited 50 minutes for our meal. when it came, it was nice and hot, but amazing. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is hungry, does not speak German and would like to taste the wine of the region."

beautiful place to eat. he was wonderful because we don't speak German, the waitress translated the menu to us. there were four of us and we all had something else to eat. every dish was great.

we were concerned about the name, but would not have had any fears, as this was probably the best food we had in 18 nights through Germany. a modern European basic, the fish and meat well cooked by very good friendly service

Essen wahr sehr gut. Insbesondere die Fischkarte ist beeindruckend. Die Weinempfehlung zum Kabeljau passte hervorragend. Nachtisch war sehr lecker. Atmosphäre sehr gut. Man kann auch auf der Terrasse draußen essen. Ich würde wieder dieses Restaurant besuchen.

Wir würden von Freunden in dieses Restaurant eingeladen und es gab ein festgelegtes Menü. Alle Speisen waren ausgezeichnet und das Viergang Menü war sehr kreativ und mehr als ausreichend. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen. Auch das Service war sehr freundlich und kompetent,

Zuverlässige Reservierung, tadelloser Service, sehr gutes Essen : ob Spargel, Fisch oder Fleisch, alle waren sehr, sehr zufrieden. Die Speisekarte mit jahreszeitlichen Schwerpunkten ist wie die Weinkarte ist übersichtlich und gut regional sortiert, trotzdem reiche Auswahl. Prima.

the restaurant am kamin is located in the family farm and is located on the main road in bad breisig to foot from the Rhine. the restaurant has a cozy dining room, including a terrace where you can have lunch. we came on a weekday night and the place was full, a good sign. the menu offers traditional German dishes: good quantities of delicious meals. decoration and table decoration give the restaurant a classic German ambiente. the staff are friendly and service is sufficient. parking next door. we recommend restaurant at kamin anyone who is looking for good food at an acceptable price.

Het Wirtshaus Zum Weissen Ross tegenover Am Kamin was dicht wegens vakantie. Hier waren we al twee keer eerder geweest en dat was goed bevallen. Dus overgestoken naar Am Kamin. Het restaurant zelf was leeg, maar de beide terrassen waren goed vol. Een vissalade als hoofdgerecht besteld. Dachten dat het salade met wat vis was, maar het bleek een aardige portie vis met een klein beetje salade in het midden. Het geheel erg lekker. Een voorgerechtje en brood werd ook geserveerd, maar we wachten nu nog op de uitleg wat het voorgerechtje was. Alles bij elkaar heerlijk, Niet goedkoop, maar met de aangename stilte op het terras zeker de moeite waard.

Außerordentlich vortreffliche Küche und sehr freundliche und umsichtige Bedienung. Man wird zu jeder Zeit auf das vortrefflichste bewirtet, aber das Team um Fam. Pommer übertrifft sich zur Kulinarischen Woche in Bad Breisig selbst.Nicht nur die skandinavischen Gerichte in der Woche sind außerordentlich gut, dass Buffet am Wochenende ist umwerfend.Und es ist kein Geheimtipp mehr, man sollte ein Jahr voraus reservieren. Warum verblassen Sterne? In unserer Gegend sind weitere Spitzenrestaurants,zum Teil mit Sterneköchen.Aber Menüs, Preis, Leistung, Freundlichkeit, Service .... vom Team "Am Kamin" lassen in unseren Augen alle Sterne(restaurants) verblassen.

We've been to the restaurant a number of times, mostly for family dinners and we've never been disappointed. The restaurant serves modern German cuisine and they go through a lot of effort with their specials (which are always around seasonal products, such as white asparagus...in spring, duck in the winter etc They also have some themed menues during the week at very reasonable prices and often do regional promotions (such as Norwegian dishes e.g. the elk and lobster are to die for or fish buffets). "Let me say upfront that this restaurant is quoted diamonds out of in the Varta restaurant guide. So we went with high expectations. Should at least have been Michelin BIB quality? Outside a nice mansion-like house, nice lighting, terrace etc. Cosy interior, cuddily...heated ..... warm welcome. Breathes the air of a gourmet temple. Other than à la carte the card showed one, three course menu at Ok, not expensive, but since the map showed very traditional plates too, apparantly not different from the ones on the menu, I thought: hmm, let's see what they can do for this amount And so, we took it. But it appeared they could not do much. First, came kinds of bread and different spreads on the side, nice. Then, for first course, a fresh salad accompagnied amongst other things, by raw quartered tomatoes, lukewarm asparagus and strawberrys. It felt like back in the Nouvelle cuisine, you still know? Main, a so called mediterranean braised lam leg, with green beans, braised tomatoe, an indifferent sauce, probably thickened with starch and some gratiné potatoes. Then a vanilla panacotta with strawberry and rubarb sauce. Well, honestly, these courses were not more than just correct home cooking. I can do better at my home and I'm not a chef. Coffee and thea, were accompagnied by minuscule biscuit. Ok, I admit, what can you expect for Still, I would gladly have spent some more for a more elaborate meal. Is Varta is to blame? Or is the crisis so big in Germany .....? Or was the chef out of inspiration? And also IMHO, houses like this one should not downsize on the quality and offer meals at a lower price in the hope to attract more customers. First they will scare away the real gourmets. And secondly, the other eaters will not come either, since they will not go to a gourmet institute anyway. Proof: other than us, there was nobody in the restaurant. Almost forgot: nice winelist, mostly German, but also a very well thought choice of French and Italian ones. It starts at but can also be taken by the glass."
