I was excited for dinner at this restaurant, but I was only able to give it a rating of 4. It seems like they are trying too hard and missing the mark. The food was presented in a fancy way, but it lacked in taste.

The Anise restaurant was excellent. 4 course meal was outstanding and the staff were great. Bit of a shame the steam room wasn't working but overall it's very pleasant weekend. I'd recommend the gooseberry strusel for pudding. A Ver carta

I was staying at the hotel and found the food to be decent with fair prices. The restaurant at the hotel is above average and would be convenient for a work function or birthday party, especially with ample on-site parking available.

The food and service were both good, and we were able to take advantage of a great package deal with the hotel. Our main issue was the lack of ambiance, which could have been improved with some music or better lighting. Despite that, we enjoyed the food and found the house wine to be very enjoyable.

We went with our son and his partner yesterday evening. We were served by William who was very professional and charming, a real asset to the restaurant. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the beetroot and goats curd starter, followed by the lobster ravioli then a delicious mango dessert with chilli which was an inspiration! I ate here during a stay at this restaurant when traveling to Gatwick airport. Unfortunately the service wasn't too impressive as there was only 1 waiter which meant the experience run pretty slow. Also, the decor may be to some peoples liking but I personally felt like I was in someones living room NOT a restaurant which was a shame because the bill for 2 was a little over priced ... Having said that, the food was absolutely gorgeous so hats off to the chef! The cocktails were also lovely.

We were staying at the Felbridge Hotel and so we booked a table at the Anise for ease and to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a very meal.... And I must thank Jessica, our waitress who was a star and an asset to your establishment. Onto the food..... Great menu.... I ordered Foie Gras with Brioche, and hubby had the Scallops..... Lovely presentation and good flavours. Main was Rib Eye with a Suet tower filed with slow cooked beef, leeks, celeriac. Again beautiful presentation and I can honestly say, it was delicious. Hubby went for the Duck and foie gras.... He really enjoyed his meal. Desert was Strawberry pillow with Strawberry soup ...... And popping candy! Very nice and refreshi...

We booked a table in advance of our stay. Accurate menu available to view online. Small intimate restaurant, well decorated and softly lit. Access is through the main hotel restaurant The Bay Tree which is a shame, but draws a nice comparison once your in the quiet of The Anise. Friendly welcome from the waiter, and a choice of table. In short the food was excellent, interesting and full of flavor. arrived quickly to the table and was hot where appropriate! Good wine list, at hotel prices. A big let down however was the service. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, and the waiter who appeared completely on his own was assisted once by another waitress, and she delivered food to the wrong... Ver carta
