Fantastic meal! Innovative, lots of umami, exciting combinations, beautiful presentations, the best meal I have had in a long time.

we have tried a series of highly rated locations. assa impressed us most. kreatiw without exaggerating it. local ingredients used with large cooking techniques. friendly service with a good tempo. amazing wine list. very well done.

Excellent fine gastronomie frenchjaponese fusion. The location is not very good, not practice for parking, no possibilities to charge e.cars. The room is noisy would need a more cosy quiet place to enjoy the exquisite food explosion of french japonese fusion créations . Where the...local fish or beef meet and dispute the flavours came from Japan miso, shitake, soy marinades, matcha , yuzu . Fish dish accompanied with kind of pickles bit too salty .

not in the position to deposit the required guarantee with our credit card that we wrote and explained the problem. shortly afterwards we received a message that confirmed our reservation. super! we have not informed about the strong Japanese influence in the kitchen, but left everything. the excellent service staff and the chefs. and, young, what an event! an unforgettable experience for palate, eyes and nose with an excellent selection of weeps for a very happy couple.

An unforgettable experience for palate, eyes and nose with an outstanding choice of wines made for a very happy couple.

Credit to this restaurant which has very high ambitions and clearly prides itself on purveying an experience which is more creative and poetic (literally) than conventional, traditional establishments. But the truth is, the ambition frequently exceeded the execution, a fact underscored by the pretentiousness of...presentation and scantness of portions. We have eaten at many high-flown temples of gastronomy and are used to to rarefied presentations of food. But all too often, the former can dramatise the shortcomings of the latter. So, while the food was certainly good, it did not, in our opinion, deserve adjectives like extraordinary or spectacular .

My husband and I had lunch at this restaurant and were absolutely amazed by the quality-presentation-innovation-service of the food. The one-Michelin star does not do them justice. Absolutely everything we ate could easily have been found at a 3-star Michelin restaurant (throughout the years we...have eaten at many in France, Spain, Italy, and Germany). Our meal at Assa was, without a doubt, one of the best: the French-Japanese mix in all of the dishes was always a perfect symbiosis of tastes, without any ingredient or flavour overpowering one another. first I would like to say that eating is excellent and definitely worth going. as others have said, it is expensive, but within each course we found three small dishes/aways of cooking the ingredients all very interesting and excellent....presentation was nice where some hard points must be, the service and the young servedeam is a certain direction to give, it was stressful to observe and experience. our table was reserved for 7.30 and it seemed like everyone else. we were the second table to take place. Restaurant Assa is situated a few km outside of Blois, on the West side along the road that follows the Lore. The restaurant is higher up and can be reached by an elevator. The view on the Loire is magnificent. We had dinner on an...evening in July and enjoyed the colors of the sun going down. Even when the sun got down, there was enough light to enjoy the view on the river and the many birds playing and feeding on the islands and low waters.
