"We had booked a Gite in the beautiful village of St Remeze for a week and planned to visit each restaurant over the week. Well apart from a couple of nights when we had a takeaway Pizza we ended up here every night. Like all...our favourite restaurants there is a small menu, which means the food is fresh and hasn't been in a freezer for months. But over the week we tried pretty much everything, except the locally farmed snails!!! Every single item was delicious and beautifully presented. Our modest French was no problem. The owner and I used odd words and happy gestures to communicate, whilst the waiter spoke fluent English having spent years in London. Highlight of the week was Wednesday's soiree musicale featuring rumba, flamenco and gypsy music. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough."

We had a lovely lunch here with delicious sausages and mashed potatoes. Lovely view and great staff. Try the local fig wine!

Lovely welcome, great ambiance and really tasty food. Its a small French restaurant that was a fab find when we were looking for somewhere to eat. It's quirky but in a good way. Laurette is a fantastic chef and her husband manages front of house.

Stopped by on our way to the caverne and as it was late lunch was over but the wonderful lady made us feel so welcome and offered homemade pate and coffee. Hit the spot and was just what we wanted. The pate was wonderful and...came out beautifully presented with pickles etc. The coffee was some of the best we had had in France. True hospitality!

We stopped for lunch chez Laurette in January The restaurant is only a few minutes drive from the Caverne du Pont d'Arc, and most customers on our day of visit were heading there. The menu is actually a board and all food is made...on order. We had a delicious truit and veal kidneys. Great food and a great welcome make for an easy recommendation!

After a visit to the Madeleine cave we ended up here by recommendation from the grotte staff, and it did not disappoint! Friendly owners, a nice terrace and a simple but delicious menu. Caviar d'aubergine, petits farcis and flan de chataigne; all fresh, seasonal,...nicely seasoned and well presented. Even the menu enfant was really good with home made crunchy chicken nuggets garlic rosemary potatoes and courgette flan. Very recommendable!

Dinner for two, very friendly and nice staff, we were accommodated quickly and presented all menu options (in English also). We had to wait a while for getting service after being seated, but... absolutely delicious entree (you must try the Escargot Vegetarian options also available,...even if only a few. Main courses were average and the prices a bit high for the quality (May be only a matter of taste). Nice atmosphere otherwise and definitely a try it in the St Remeze cuisine scenery.

Last year we spent a week in St Remeze. This year we are staying two weeks, so obviously we are back at this wonderful Auberge. Has anything changed? Well the owner speaks a little more English and we speak a a little more French. Apart...from that nothing. The welcome is as warm as ever, the waiters are as helpful as ever (one speaks excellent English) and the food is just as wonderful. So far we have enjoyed the ploughman's platter, the trout, a steak and the marvellous Hamber Gets which is two delicious duck breasts instead of bread and foie gras for the filling. But the highlight for me is the beautiful genuinely French creme brulee. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
