Auberge de l'Ady - Carta

We were taken to the Auberge by some French friends. Can't really say anything bad about it....food, service and value for money all very good. They have a good a la carte plus several fixed price menus ranging from a very reasonable lunch menu at €20 to a very good tasting menu at €72. Definitely worth a visit.

We live nearby. We come hear 2 or 3 times a year, and have always enjoyed it. However, we were both surprised at how Cédric continues to improve. We have eaten in several restaurants "étoilés" this year, this is as good and in some respects better. The wine list is more extensive now, although we tend to stick to our favourites.Oh, and they have some new knives that are superb.

we visited with friends living in the aveyron. it was an exquisite lunch of many courses, with unexpected mini courses between the curses. I assume my favourite course was the pre-supplier of four canap, one per person, and I always enjoy the ratafia. We...left full, but not too full, because all courses are intentionally of moderate size too intrigue and not overwhelming diners. I'm looking forward to going back. We have been with friends, à deux on Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve.If you ever have the chance try and get there. The choice is not enormous because everything is cooked that day. The wine list has some great wines chosen for their taste rather than their name. The dry white Pacherenc du Bilh is just wonderful.Don't be fooled by the uninspiring exterior, just get in there and enjoy it.

The owner is a chef who has worked in several top Paris restaurants and has returned to this quiet village near Rodez. and seems to be working towards a Michelin rosette. The food, inspired by local ingredients, is modern and imaginative, carefully prepared and beautifully presented, . Tastes are subtle but on some occasions erring towards the bland. We happened to be in the Marcillac area, exploring the various wine caves of the region, and landed up in Valady around lunchtime, having no previous knowledge of the village or this restaurant.The exterior of Auberge de l'Ady is not particularly promising - we weren't even sure if it was open - but the interior is a revelation with a very pleasant and airy, marble-floored dining area.Suffice to say that we enjoyed an excellent lunch and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.We will certainly be returning.Some of the comments of other reviewers are "interesting". Situated in a quaint red stone village in the valley of the Ady at the heart of the Marcillac wine region this restaurant is part of an old Auberge but has been renovated to provide a contemporary space with a cool pleasing ambience. We were...nicely greeted and shown to our table with our dog. Aperitifs were speedily offered together with menus. The menu of the day at 19 euros sounded good and we didn't want anything too heavy so gave it a whirl. The result was amazing a veal tartare with Asparagus Gaspachio and preserved celery was stunning.
