Note: parking in bayonne not the easiest, so allow...bit the time to find a place and go on the side street to the restaurant.

I've been fed here for more than 35 years and has never been disappointed. the warm egg starter, the calf or the heke and soufflé are all a joy and at 45euros for the set is a good value. the chief and the owner jean claude met. a conscious decision to give up the michelin star, as most requirements do not increase culinary, over table etc. and cost. in my experience there are few finer restaurants in the area

We visited whilst on holiday in bayonne last week, and were extremely impressed! Fantastic good value food. 3 courses were only €45, with another menu option at only €25 for three courses! The fish I had was outstanding. We had many excellent meals whilst touring...the basque country, but this one was our favourite. The lady who served us was very welcoming and friendly, which added to our enjoyment. She explained the menu to us in english. If we ever return to Bayonne this will be the first place we go!

Wonderful gourmet restaurant located in the heart of Petit Bayonne. The exterior has the classical have timbered appearance. The restaurant itself is lovely, with fantastic attention paid to the service. The lunch menul is quite a bargain, especially when you consider that it is traditional...Basque food, but done in an extremely high quality style. The chef was quite nice, having rushed out to say goodbye to us. Try to arrive early, as they wish to stop service at a reasonable hour. Definitely make a reservation for dinner. One of the best dining experiences we have ever had.

My wife and I had dinner here on a trip to Bayonne. It is well worth a visit. The restaurant is spacious, tables are well spaced apart and décor is simple but effective. We had gin and tonic as an aperitif which was expertly mixed...and balanced just right. We chose the menu Entre Amis at €45 each which includes three courses from the a la carte menu. The starters we had were Oeuf Parfait and a Pot au Feu. The egg dish was nothing short of sensational, a superbly executed dish of softly cooked egg set on a base of wine infused shallots with a flavour of foie gras and lemon salt. The flavours just cascaded down with crunchy micro croutons. Superb cooking. For main course we had Rognon de Veau...
