"This was the first time we visited this restaurant. We only got to hear about it as we had a flyer put under the windscreen wiper advertising a Valentine's Day meal when we visited a market in a nearby town. It was difficult to find...as it was out in the country in a small hamlet. The restaurant building itself was charming, but parking could be a problem. The menu was traditional country style French cooking. We had mushroom soup, monkfish in a saffron sauce, lamb shanks or stuffed guinea fowl leg, cheese and desert. The price for the meal was including a picket of wine per person. Very good value and very good cooking. They also do lunches at du ring thé week. Different opening times and days apply during winter. You need to book for an evening meal and they only open for larger parties during winter evenings. We will be going back to try the lunchtime menu and will also return for an evening meal in spring/summer."

Bahn Thai definitely does not survive off of Yelp reviews.

Bahn Thai was great! I entered thinking no one would be inside because there weren't any windows but it was 3/4 filled.

Not bad I had the green curry with shrimp and rice lunch specialThe hot and sour soup was, yes sour, but not really rich in any other flavours.

As we are avid Bruno Courreges fans we followed his trail to Auberge le Roussel and were delighted to have lunch here in the garden on a lovely sunny day in May. We had le plat du jour and enjoyed good Perigord fare and genuine...friendly service. Madame was very pleasant and we would highly recommend searching out this hidden gem.

The restaurant is in a beautiful setting beside a canal river. Currently they are repairing the lock. When it is finished it will be an even more peaceful place. That said the works did not intrude. The food was excellent and they proposed a...good glass of wine to drink with lunch. This was all accompanied by friendly and efficient service.

This was a fixed menu, and only a couple to choose from. I'd call it "country French". The speciality of the house was a duck with faus gras, but since none of us cared for that, we all choose the steak. It was mediocre...compared to what we are use to in the USA. The other courses were disappointing too. We ate outside in a patio area. The building is very historic and interesting from Atmosphere good, and the owner very sociable.

This is our LOCAL Restaurant. It is one we go to most often, it is consistently high quality and great value for money. It was a difficult decision to make a review, because we like it the way it is, and prefer it not to...change. It is run by Herve Mitiee Man Wife, who work hard to ensure their clients have a good experience. Here in France there will be a new label on Restaurant's Fait la Maison which is MADE AT the Restaurant, not bought in and re-heated. The Roussel has always been prepared like this, The kitchen is open and one can see Herve cooking the meals, he uses products from his own gardens.

We went there because it is listed in the Martin Walker novels that are set in the area. We were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely old farm house auberge with a formal dining room and outdoor patio seating. We knew we had found a...gem when we saw that French workmen and retirees were part of the clientele as well as tourists. We had the fixed price lunch menu which featured options for every course. It included courses and wine. On that day we both chose the steak, salad and chocolate mousse. It was very good and we were entertained by two little girls whose family was staying in one of the four bungalows on the property. Madam.Perrier speaks English and was very friendly and helpful in...

Hidden away up a country lane off the this resturant is a little gem. We selected the menu for starting with potage (a fresh veg potato soup) delicious french bread, then our selcetions included duck foie gras salad (devine), cured...ham and onion relish salad (equally devine) and scallops in a sauce (also delicious). For the main course we selected steak and duck which were both cooked to perfection. Then followed a white, soft cheese course (like a thick natural yoghurt which tasted very fresh and creamy) before the desserts floating island, creme caramel, ice cream and an apricot tart tatin all were lovely and all our plates were almost licked clean !! The lady who owned the place served...
