"Aux Anysetiers du Roy is a cosy (at least on the street-level floor where we ate) spot right on Rue St. Louis, fairly close to the Notre Dame end of the street. Although it offers a nicely priced 17.50 set menu, we decided to order off their a la carte menu. Jean started with their Terrine de Campagne (we asked for and got a pot of mustard to liven it up) and then had their rich, house-made pate de foie gras and a generous side salad as her main plate. I had a pleasant vegetable soup followed by a creamy chicken fricassee with morel mushrooms served with rice and French green beans. We both had their light and airy Ile Flottant. With a pichet of white wine and a Badoit, the bill mounted to 94 Euros. Pricey for what we ate, but still less than some places on the street."

Poulet des Provençales was wonderful. Mid price range. Madame will take good care of you. Non crowded during the week. Didn't need reservations.

We have been many times and it has never disappointed. Great food, ambience and service. Traditional and homely with all the classic French dishes.

Very good restaurant for lunch and dinner. Perfect on a hot day for lunch in the cool and warm and welcoming on a cold winter's day. Been coming here since 2000. Very good traditional French cooking, cassoulet, goats' cheese salad. Ver carta

We had the vegetable soup, chicken provencale and chocolate mousse, the dishes of the day. All were home cooked and very tasty. The wine at 24eu a bottle for red was pretty ordinary, probably better to have a rose or white if you are not prepared to pay more for a better red. Friendly service.

Very attractive small downstairs room with small tables and a much larger upstairs room that can accommodate a larger group. We were 2. Lovely old windows and views on the 'busy' walking and shopping street of the Ile St Louis. Late lunch and friendly service. And, of course there was dessert!

Quintessential traditional classic French menu freshly cooked and a place I keep coming back to.If you don’t know it, it is easy to walk past as it hard to see inside but it would be a mistake not to step in to this quaintly decorated trapped in time restaurant. The décor is of a bygone dimly-lit castle with hand painted heraldry, at first glance is odd, but is cosy and quaint, imbuing a fun dining chatty atmosphere. If you like classic French food, then this is for you.
