Ban Thai Restaurant

It's edible, but a joy it isn't. The portions are huge, if that's what you like. The dishes aren't good, however. The curries are to be avoided just milky mess, rather than the cleverly made Thai style where the coconut oil separates out. If...you must eat here, go simple, so a stir-fry.

top class perhaps the best thai restaurant in Germany. I suggest that they are formed first. it would actually also help if they had a hint who they were trying to criticize and know something about the owner and the personal. I feel personally repent for you! you are so hopelessly wrong!

Went to eat at Sitte but was fully booked so came here instead as close by. Mixed appetisers huge and full of flavour. Main course flavoursome and a good sized portion. Service fast but efficient as I would expect. Restaurant was full which on a...Tuesday evening, and early at that, with Valentines two days away speaks volumes!

I´ve been here several times, mainly for lunch which is very reasonable, I guess that is why Ban Thai is becoming more and more popular! The dishes are good, even if not excellent. I like the roasted duck dishes but the (mainly) soy sauce dishes...are somewhat tasteless. The waiters do their job but are not particularly friendly. Portions are big though!

The place is nice, waiters can improve or perhaps there are not enough waiters! The food taste is OK but not really good, in a scale from to being the best, I would give it a As everyone one else has...pointed portions are huge and prices are moderately low. Don’t go all the way there to be disappointed! I would recommend the managers of this restaurant to have less dishes to offer and improve the quality of the food

top class perhaps the best thai restaurant in Germany. for those who have the last two reviews, obviously visit from england, who decided to criticize this place. I suggest you've been training yourself first. it would actually also help if they were at least a hint about Thai food, about the owner of the company that they clearly try to criticize, and at least something about the incredibly helpful and polite employees waiting for them. Personally, I feel sorry for their entire lack of knowledge and culinary know-how and can only explain their reviews hopelessly wrong!

the service was very bad from the beginning, as the thai middle age was only rude while he took order. we ordered green curry (as we always do): chicken powdered. the kerl heard what and we got a yellow looking curry. another lady. which she kept when it was greener curry, she said no, so after she had cleared the currys. in seconds the man went back and held both curries, who said they had ordered this. He became rude and forced us to say that we ordered it. we have always said no and he went from the wut. never had such a bad service. especially in a Thai place, they avoid if they do not want to ruin their evening! the food was average.

Unfortunately, this really is a case of quantity over quality. the curries with cocos milk are made very bad in Thai style, where the cocos milk should be separated "racked, so the result is a bit creamy...mess and with many cheap sweets instead of Thai. if they have to, they will stay at the iron courts that are a little safer. it is disappointing that the courts cannot make the fine and careless, the Thai food so amazing. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find good Thai food in darmstadt. that was not the case. the service is slow and underoccupied, so be prepared. Summary: this place could and should be much better. I would choose somewhere else if you were in the position.

Nice thai decor and Thai staff gave good expectations. However, the food was uninspired and not authentic. Pad kee mao drunken noodels. But in Ban Thai it is with rice. We checked if noodles could be ordered, but got a flat NO. OK. Then...I asked for it very spicy, adding thai very spicy not German very spicy I got an off hand nod. The food was NOT SPICY at all. It contained a few green pepper corns, which were in fact black and so not tasting too good. I asked if they could make the dish hotter and she gave a shrug and walked away.
