"We trawled the town for somewhere to eat, and ended up here as this looked the most interesting. The environment is good, it's open and clean. We were greeted very friendly, the menu is on a blackboard/s. Our first order was revised when what we ordered was not available. So we had anchovies and mussels as tapas. The anchovies were simply a tin or jar of oiled anchovies decanted into a more decorative tin. The mussels had a very 'we arrive frozen in this batter' look about them. Both were OK, but not brilliant. Main course was the house special of large prawn described as Gambas to go with the Spanish theme. But this was disappointing as the crime of putting a tasty piquante sauce over stilled shelled seafood was committed, this just makes for a messy and unpleasant dining experience, although they were good and the sauce was good (sort of mild pil pil with a yogurt softening to it, it was a pain to eat. Cider good, beer ok, and reasonably priced wine section. Balmy nights sat on the seaward side would be great, but don't expect hugely appealing food, it's not send back bad, just not wonderful. But very friendly which goes a long way when tired and in a strange town."

Every night, the sunset is staged with music it's great. the bar is ideally located facing the sea. tapas are excellent and reasonable prices. The boss and the waiters are friends like the regulars. That's great.

One of the best place around ! André Jean will be pleased to welcome you for a drink or for lunch. The club sandwiches are pretty good. And the sunset view remarquable ! I do recommend this place. The team is nice too !

When we had almost lost all hopes of having dinner since all places in Coutance or coutanville were already closed or had finished the kitchen service, around 10 pm,we found this wonderful small place by the sea. Fantastic landscape, fair price, good service, good choice of food and drinks, delicious food..wonderful!

Arriving in Coutainville at 4pm saturday,I asked the lady who met us where to eat. She said La Plancha is best for food and price. She was spot on.Being Saturday we got there early...only one table occupied so we picked a table and sat down. The waitress asked if we had a reservation (no)., I thought it was the usual wind up but the place did fill up totally. Anyhow she let us sit where we were which was by the window looking out towards Jersey.Menu came and we found out why it is called La Plancha . They serve Tapas along with french and seafood dishes. My wife can eat very little so she ordered Tempura Mussels which were surprisingly exactly what you might expect! I ordered something meaty...
