Bar Vendome - Menú

A special Birthday dinner in the Bar Vendome, booked by Amex Centurion for my lady, was decidedly flat. The food (a la Carte) was distinctly average and the service underwhelming, the restaurant hostess was somewhat disinterested which was completely the opposite experience offered to us by several other Parisian 5 Star landmarks. We knew prior to arrival that there's no connection between the two hotels but Ritz Paris isn't a patch on its London namesake.

Before visiting the hotel, I knew the service and everything should be great, because it is very well know through the years. BUT, i have to say that it is more than that, The Ritz is incredible, it is like the people are working there, they re not working, I got this sensation, It is a marvelous atmosphere, unique and unforgettable. Of course, the prices are high, but it has to be. Each time I have something really important to do, I dont hesitate to go there, I know it is gonna be memorable.

The service is faultless, you are made to feel special and there is a great attention to detail. Decoration is faultless. Staff are charming but not too "gushing". So why only 4*?The food was good, nicely presented but (in my view) not fantastic. Well seasoned and fair portion, just a little uninspired. I thought it represented only fair value for money. Yes, I get it's the Ritz and the hotel is stunning, but at £250.00 a head for a lunch time 2 course meal, I felt it a bit steep given the earlier comments.

We chose the Ritz's Bar Vendome for an evening meal this time on our stay in Paris because we spent 4 nights in the hotel a year ago and wanted to return. I tried to book online a few days beforehand but it said that we were on the waiting list and so I left a comment to let us know if there was any availability but no-one got back to us so I had to ring instead. A shame that they could not let us know before but when we got there the service and food was really good and we enjoyed our evening so would recommend.

I liked the faded opulence of the Ritz prior to the extensive renovation. Everything now is Ritzy, dangerously close to bling but definitely no bling. The Ritz even gets away with golden taps. The bar Vendome is close to the entrance, two rooms with lots of space between the tables, perfect lighting and sound insulation so you never hear whats said in the next table. Food is parisian classics from foie gras to duck confit. Suoerlative service, every serious hotelier and restaurateur should send their senior staff once to the Ritz just to watch and learn. The bill inevitably is according to all the magnificence

J'ai réservé une table pour 5 personnes pour l'anniversaire de ma sœur.Nous sommes venus pour l'apéritif et nous avons été enchantés !!!!De l'accueil jusqu'à la sortie tout était parfait.Je remercie toute l'équipe pour nous avoir fait passer un moment inoubliable. C'était une surprise pour les 25 ans de ma sœur et je crois qu'elle s'en souviendra toute sa vie grâce à vous ! Merci tout particulièrement à Raphael qui s'est occupé de nous de À a Z avec zéro faute, spontané, souriant et dynamique.Merci aussi à Simon pour son sourire et sa gentillesse et à Steve pour son accueil et son suivi.Une belle équipe prometteuse ...A bientôt

Nous sommes allé déjeuner un jour de semaine au mois de juin vers 14h. Nous avons été installé dans le jardin, le personnel est sympathique et assez efficace. Nous avons choisi deux clubs sandwichs avec frites, deux cocktails de fruits.Le prix très élevé n'est pas un problème quand c'est bon mais là, même dans un buffet de gare c'est meilleur ! Le pain mou, l'oeuf dur sans saveur, de même pour la tomate et les autres éléments du sandwich... sans parler des frites et de la mayonnaise. Notre tord est de l'avoir mangé jusqu'au bout sans le retourner mais nous étions pressés et affamés !J'ai souvenir du club sandwiches au Crillon qui était aussi cher mais excellent.

I’ve been to afternoon tea at the Ritz London (2x), Washington DC, Florida, etc… you get the idea, but this one has to be the worst one due to service and selection. When you come to these teas you know that the concept isn’t a big deal, at the end of the day it’s just finger sandwiches. However, you come here for the experience and service. The waiter we had the displeasure of waiting on us was rude, and not subtly. We asked for our tea to be replenished, came back without changing the tea bag, so he he gave use lukewarm dishwater. our 2nd visit here, firstly the hotel is stunning, BUT the restaurant is not as timeless/beautifull as london ritz etc, with the old pomp, and class, its a lot more relaxed, but the service, and food was excellent, starter of the squid,with potao risotto,comte cheese, iberic ham and chorizo broth, was one of my greatest ever starters, served in a largish balti bowl, then for main a classic french dish, french wild bass ,in puff pastry,dill, seasonal vegatables ,roasted fish sauce, with the top of the pastry having the ritz crown/logo burnt into the top,, to watch the 2 waiters cut/open, and serve this dish, was a masterclass in food theatre alone, we ordered the fresh mash potao as extra, IN...
