Beefeater The Millfield, York

We couldn't fault our visit. Jake W was fantastic, and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent, and the speed of service was very impressive. Will definitely visit again next time we're in York.

Very pleasant modern building and quite busy with the Premier Inn next door. Evening meal was well cooked and served quickly. Beer was expensive for this type of pub. Breakfast was good but the hot food was quite cold.

The best beefeater restaurant we have visited . The food was excellent and the staff were brilliant particularly Mitchell. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very valued as customers. Would highly recommend. The staff are a credit to the company

FOOD WAS VERY GOOD TASTY AND WELL COOKED. WHAT MADE THE MEAL THAT MUCH BETTER THAN ALOT OF RESTAURANTS IN YORK WAS THE SERVICE PROVIDED BY MITCH OUR WAITER VERY ATTENTIVE AND ABSOLUTELY ON IT DURRING A BUSY TIME BUT NO COMPRISE IN SERVICE. WELL DONE MITCH

Just stopped off as a coffee refuel to break up our long journey. Ended up having some chips with our coffee. Lovely clean surroundings in the establishment and the staff member who dealt with us (Sam T) was very nice and made sure all was ok with our chips and coffee.

We went here for a meal as it was close to a shopping outlet we visited, so glad we did. We go to many Beefeaters country wide and we must say on the night we visited this restaurant the meal and service we received was the best out of any Beefeaters we have gone to. Lovely staff, so friendly and polite, especially young man called Ollie, wonderful service, as to the food, it was well presented, very hot and tasted very nice. The only bad thing we can say, is we dont live near this restaurant. Thank you for such wonderful service and food, will definitely visit again in the future

Unfortunately this is the first bad review I’ve felt the need to share. Once food arrived after 50 minutes in the very quiet pub, we were less than impressed. The meat was a mixture of mostly tough and inedible or dry and mediocre. We weren’t expecting anything fancy but at least be able to chew the meat without causing an achey jaw. The manager wasn’t very helpful (to say the least) and was very unapologetic with the bad quality of their food. Actually quite rude to be honest. If it hadn’t been for him I wouldn’t have bothered to write this to be honest. The waitress, however, was lovely throughout!

Average food which is over priced. The offers are a plenty however the discount only really brings it down to an average price. The restaurant was no more than 25% full and yet ordering drinks and food took a long time (the team did apologise for this). Upon departure we were presented with an incorrect food bill 3 times, the discount code offer seemed to be the confusion. We had to explain this on each occasion and towards the end, when corrected, we all felt quite exhausted! Then just before we set off in our car the same waiter ran over to us and informed us we’d now underpaid, think we were bamboozled by this point. I haven’t been to Beefeater in decades, and was of the opinion that the chain was a relic of 70’s (rather like myself . I was therefore very pleasantly surprised with the food when we had dinner with the children. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the peppercorn sauce was seasoned well and the onion rings crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I stoically forewent the triple cooked chips to avoid calorie overload, but stole 2 of my wife’s which were good. I’m fussy about the quality of my meat, but these felt to be good cuts of meat, tasty and free from fat.
