Beefy’s At Hilton Ageas Bowl

The food was okay but extremely expensive for what it was. £8 for 3 scoops of 'normal ' ice cream; £15 for a cheeseboard; £18 for a burger and a handful of chips etc.

Visited for dinner after the recent England NZ International. Good and imaginative choice of 'pub ' style food and quick friendly service. Reasonably priced. Food was a little bland for my palate, but that is a personal thing, others will find it fine.

We were greeted by friendly, well-mannered staff member and shown to our table . The menu was explained in great detail, which was good. Drinks were offered and served quickly. The food was fantastic, well presented and very tasty. I could not fault anything . Well worth a visit . Ver carta

The service is good nice venue but the food was nothing special. The chips were dry powdery. The vegetarian pithivier did not taste of olives, the onions in the ratatouille were not cooked the dish was dry to eat. The coffee brûlée did not really taste of coffee was over set. Came away feeling like we had wasted a lot of money.

Fabulous restaurant all round! The welcome, the service, the staff, the foo all superb. Great choices on the menu. The quality of food was excellent. Each dish was balanced with delicious ingredients and flavours. Even my request for a fresh fruit salad, not on the menu, was met with a smile and crisp, tasty and varied selection of fruit. Highly tecommenddd, especially the vid loin and gammon.?

Pre-match meal. Linguine, fish and chips, Caesar salads, crème brûlée note the correct accents , ice cream, drinks, etc. All good and efficiently served. I have two beefs ! however. First, the name. I'm sure it puts people off because, like my wife, they assume it's all meat. It may be impossible to change contractually but it's a bit of a turn-off. Secondly, have you tried to read the menu online? White text on black. Very difficult to read. Needs to be made more user-friendly. But the food was good. Ver carta

Great dinner during break in cricket. Food was top class and service was excellent. Even added a birthday treat for my husband at the end. HOWEVER, please note you cannot access or leave the restaurant into or out of the cricket ground. As a disabled guest this was a real problem for me, which I had tried to find out about from the restaurant prior to visit. On the day, we were allowed into the restaurant from the ground, but trying to leave was a complete nightmare and although the restaurant staff finally sorted it for us, it was embarassing and stressful. It really should be made clear that there is no entry or exit from the cricket ground.

We were staying at the hotel so thought we would try this restaurant. Our order was taken quickly but sadly no food arrived. After 45 minutes, we asked for the food to be chased. The waitress we had spoken with came straight back with our starters. Our mains arrived 20 minutes after the starters were cleared, which was fine. The waitress removed the cost of the starter and the service charge from our bill without us asking which was a positive. A lady on a table next to us also had a meal removed from her bill, so I guess she had a problem as well and the couple the couple the other side had a very long wait between starter and mains and then waited over 30 minutes for a coffee! We stayed in this beautiful hotel before going on a cruise from Southampton. We had read about this amazing restaurant so were excited to eat here. The service was shocking. We had been in the spa since we arrived so we deliberately booked a late dinner to avoid the rush. It was clear that it had been extremely busy before we arrived but when we arrived most people had finished eating. We stood at the point waiting to be seated for over 10 minutes as staff walked past us many times with their heads down. They had nothing in their hands so we didn’t understand why people kept walking past us but no-one would seat us. Then this was the same for the rest of our evening. We waited over half an h...
