"Came here for one of the pies, the pie wasn't too bad. The side veg was rather cold. But the big problem and the issue why I'm giving this place a terrible review is the side order of chips we ordered. The chips at the...top were fine and then half way down the bowl they were cold, then after moving the cold chips out of the way we discovered some ribbons of cabbage and peas. I can only assume we were served some nasty left overs! Bit of a shame really, the service was actually good."

Best steak pie I have tasted, and served with truly fresh vegetables full of flavour. Also enjoyed choosing from well kept guest ales. Confess I drove past a couple of times before finally checking it out. Great spot, and friendly owners.

I have been here on several occasions recently at different times. The food and service have been excellent and special praise should go to Pie night on a Wednesday where there are a wide variety of pies at a reasonable cost which are delicious .

diners met for a pre-ordered Sunday lunch seafood platter, roast lamb or roast beef with all the trimmings, sponge pudding and custard, cheese and biscuits. Excellent food, wine and service. A thoroughly successful event and would certainly use this friendly pub again. Good...value with quality food.

We took over the whole restaurant for our Xmas bash. The service was good, the drinks we went to the bar which needs a bit of attention. Bar area was not busy. We had a set menu pre chosen which was nicely presented , but...it was plentiful pub grub. didn't see the normal menu but what we all had was ok.

Have been to this place a few times and eaten in the resturant. The food is normal pub food and pretty good and the service is always quick. The resturant is nicely decorated however, I really dislike the bright lights and fuzzy background music of...the radio. Dim the lights and put on some nice background music and whole dining experience will be better!

Second visit here with my mum and sister. Encountered very rude bar waitress on first visit, but hoped it was just a one off. Sadly here again today and service is just as unpleasant and very slap dash. Same lady, same awful attitude she...really should be encouraged to display some level of customer engagement. Small animal type zoo, with too many birds in one enclosure displaying injuries that don’t appear to be well tended or addressed. Such a shame

First time visit, based on a recommendation. The seven home-made pies on the board provided plenty of choice and all came with vegetables and chipped, mashed or roast potatoes. All were well cooked and portions were generous. Nice real ales available as well. I chose...the Black Sheep to go with my venison pie. A bonus for my two year old grandson was the animal collection in the garden. Great value and well worth a visit. Pies on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
