"We enjoyed a wonderful lunch that was expertly prepared with high-quality ingredients, and the service we received in the restaurant, shop, and fish counter was both professional and friendly. This earns a solid 5 stars. However, we were surprised by the size of the 'small bites.' While we expected them to be diminutive, we didn’t anticipate they would be quite so small—especially at such a high price! Additionally, as of mid-February 2022, with the country having lifted COVID restrictions, it seems the management hasn’t fully adjusted to this change, as mask-wearing is still enforced in the shop, albeit not legally. To conclude, I have a constructive suggestion: consider removing your mandatory mask notices and replace them with more welcoming messages like, "You are welcome to wear a mask if it makes you feel safer.""

"Superb experience at The Lion on Sunday . Having called late on Saturday evening hoping for a table I was politely told they were fully booked which I accepted . However no more than 10minutes had passed I had a call back as they had just had a cancellation. Fantastic , the service was great all with a smile , plates cleared away the food was superb , my wife being a vegetarian always has limited choice but The Lion has a vegan roast a Brie tart which she choose . Great favour . I had the beef roast they certainly were not shy with the beef , 4 good slices . All in all well done a great experience you should all be proud of what you are achieving . We will be back without question . Vegetarian options: Brie tart very nice"

"We booked afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday; I phoned to book and explain that I have allergies (gluten and milk) would it be possible to arrange something for me too.. the gentleman I spoke to could not have been more helpful and left me confident that I could eat safely. We arrived on Saturday to a warm welcome and were very well looked after. Fabulous service as the tea flowed. The food was fantastic and I had an afternoon tea that was friendly and looked as good as my friends. We had a lovely time and were grateful for a box to take the leftovers home as were to full to finish."

"We have been to this pub before to watch the Severn Bore and always had an excellent time! Nothing better than a breakfast while watching the bore from this pub!! So when my car started shaking on the A38 I knew if I could get it to The Severn Bore I would have a safe place to wait for recovery! I had no idea just how well they would look after us! The staff, management and customers were awesome! We were welcomed in and looked after as if we were family! My eight year old daughter had the best time on the bouncy castles (yes two bouncy castles) and play park in their garden. I was given the wifi password and offered use of their phone and they even fixed my car before the breakdown people arrived (the wheels bolts had come loose on my front tires). Nothing was too much trouble… I’m so grateful for how they looked after us! These have to be the nicest people running a pub anywhere on Earth! We will be back soon for roast and of course to watch the next bore!!"

"After having chances upon the Kings Head 3 weeks ago, my mother in law decided she wanted to make a 50 mile detour on our way home from her birthday day trip. This was a great choice. We received a very warm welcome from happy friendly staff and despite it being reasonable busy, we were not rushed into ordering our dinner. When our dinner arrived (only about 30 minutes) it was hot, very tasty and plentiful. The whopper burger certainly lives up to its name and the burgers were juicy and cooked perfectly. The lady behind the bar could not have been more helpful in explaining about the desserts etc after our main meals and when they arrived, once again they were hot and very very tasty. The toffee sponge was happily chowed down by mother. We shall without doubt be going back here in the future."
