"Table booked for 7pm, arrived early and were seated immediately, had poppadoms and sauces, Sheekh kebab starters which we requested well done, chicken madras, vegetable madras, chips, mushroom pilau rice, chips abd garlic Nan The starter arrived very quickly, before we had finished the poppadoms, it was hot, hardly spiced and certainly not well done. The main course arrived, the vegetable madras was very dry, the chips precooked and reheated, dried out hard and shrivelled, the chicken in the chicken madras was obviously precooked and reheated as it had a definite “taste” to it. The Garlic nan looked a bit sorry for itself and could have done with a bit more of a suntan but the mushroom rice was delicious The whole meal was finished by 7.40pm when the bill arrived there was a small overcharge but 10% had been added as service charge After speaking to the manager this was corrected Avoid at all costs"

Very slow service and portion size has shrunk since last year, unlike the price. Tasty but can't afford to wait for an hour for mains then not feel like I have eaten at £20+ per head. Ver carta

every time we go to llandudno, we always went to the blue elephant. eating, service and the environment are excellent and it has never disappointed us. we have recommended this restaurant to our friends who have gone to llandudno, and they say it is the best Indian cuisine and variety they have ever had, they will love it.

eating was very good, cheap and the staff was friendly. the only part was that I ordered a starter. this led to the most important courses lasted 1 hour 10 minutes to come. other customers who have ordered poppadome instead of starting, and those who have just ordered the net have their much faster. would definitely go back.

The food was lovely but the service shocking! We had read reviews about this so luckily ordered popadums and starters which came out quickly..one couple walked out as hadn’t got a drink or food in over half hour.. food was being brought out to wrong tables and nowhere near enough staff! One young man taking orders for food and drink! Not sure we would go back we spent 2hrs there in total as waited an hour for our main some people waited longer! Had to take our bill to the bar to pay as was just sitting there for ages waiting!! Ver carta

The waiter kept bringing orders that weren’t ours and putting them on our table even when we said it wasn’t ours. Then picking them up and giving them to the correct table. The poppadums and condiments were nice but the chicken tikka was more like butter chicken no flame grilled taste or colour. The garlic naan had no garlic and when we spoke to a different waiter he said it had all been in the middle. They were welcoming and gave us a complimentary drink but honestly was the worst dinner I’ve ever eaten out. It was a very expensive experience as well.

This was our 1st visit and decided to go for the set menu for 2. What a delight. Other than the Saag Paneer and veg samosa the rest of the dishes were new to our usual dishes that we have at home in Bradford. From the starters the monk fish was superb, sweet and full of flavour. The samosa’s were full of spicy veg and the lamb chop was tasty, but a little tough. The main dishes were full of flavour with a nice hit of spice. Unlike the lamb chop the Lamb Blussi was tender and melted in the mouth. Overall we were treated to some new dishes that proved to be a very nice surprise and the next time we visit Llandudno we will definitely be booking a table at The Blue Elephant.

"Whenever I get the inclination to write a review it’s usually because it’s so good and I want to shout about my experience to everyone… however this is not my usual 5* recommendation! As locals we have visited this cafe on a few occasions for breakfast or a coffee stop. It’s a great location, nice decor, dog friendly and delicious food. What’s not to like? Well, the staff, or more specifically the owner! She lacks any customer service skills, she smiles through gritted teeth, orders her staff around while she stands observing (or waiting for an argument . Each time we’ve visited she’s had an issue with something. Once she argued with me because I asked for my latte to be served in a cup rather than a tall glass. She proceeded to try and educate me on coffee making (I’m barista trained ! She reluctantly gave me it to me in a mug with a jug of extra milk which wouldn’t fit into the mug anyway! More recently we arrived, it was quiet, and chose to sit in the window (the largest table as we had our dog and didn’t want him to be in the way. She rushed over and demanded we sat at another table because she “couldn’t afford for us to take up a larger table”. We moved without an issue but she was very confrontational (as always and made the rest of our dining experience uncomfortable. So uncomfortable in fact that despite being ravenous we almost didn’t order. The cafe remained quiet throughout our time there, plenty of empty tables and yet she proceeded to use the larger window table to accommodate her staff, herself and a friend who popped in. How is that fair? So my advice to you as a fellow catering/ hospitality manager is… Learn from your Trip Advisor feedback, Book yourself on a free customer service course and lead by example and if you are worried about costs reduce the number of staff. 5 staff on duty in a cafe that seats approx 25 people at full capacity is not needed. Maybe the owner should put her feet up at home and let the lovely younger people do their thing. They all look so nervous around her and are almost too afraid to speak. I’m sure they’d do a far better job without her monitoring their every move. Even the Chef (her husband maybe? looks petrified of her!! Certain people are not cut out for customer facing roles and she is one of them! I’m pretty sure she doesn’t read any of these reviews as she’s been like this since my first visit 5 years ago!! What a shame. This place could be a thriving business and a welcoming village cafe but I’m sure her confrontational attitude and unwelcoming nature put people off from returning. Such a shame as the food and coffee are delightful"
