Bluebell Country Inn

Decided last minute to book a table here tonight as we are staying with friends on The Alders Caravan Park and it was within walking distance. So pleased we did, food was excellent and as we were in time for the early bird menu very reasonably priced for the quality of food we had.

Went to the Bluebell to celebrates my brothers 60th birthday. Great food and excellent service, reasonably priced. Steak cooked to perfection, good portions of all the meals. Sat outside for coffee. Would recommend this restaurant as a good place for a celebration or a treat of a night out

10/10! The meal was unbelievable, we had the 2 courses for £20. Lamb and beef fell apart instantly. I asked for regular gravy instead of a minted one on the menu and this was changed by the waitress. Pudding was gorgeous, sticky toffee and crumble. Wine was reasonably priced and very smooth. One of the best meals i’ve had in a long time.

Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch here today to celebrate Father’s Day. A cheery welcome on arrival at this beautifully and tastefully refurbished country inn. Excellent menu. Seven different meals arrived at the same time all piping hot and delicious. Nice outdoor area for sunny days. Well done everyone. Keep up the good work. We’ll definitely be back.

This is probably our favourite restaurant in the area, but sadly with the closure of the local river crossing for some months we are unable to go back. Hopefully bridge reopening in February. We have been here many times over the years including Christmas Eve with friends until this year. Food always excellent, best cooked steak I have ever eaten was here though normally would have something lighter.

We have dined at the Bluebell on numerous occasions over the last 25 years. We have never been disappointed. The food is always great quality and the service cannot be faulted. We last went for Sunday lunch and wondered if there would be a price increase due to the current climate. We were amazed and delighted that the price had stayed the same. The staff are delightful and couldn’t do enough for us. We would highly recommend

Eat at this charming pub for the first time. Lovely decor and ambiance. Our starters and my main meal and desserts were great but my wife didn’t like her main meal as there was too much sauce on her pasta dish. When the waitress found out about this she informed me manager who came across very quickly and was very apologetic and took off my wife’s meal from the bill without any prompting from us. Excellent customer service and we will definitely return again soon

had been to the horse racing at Thirsk and decided to find somewhere for dinner. Searched on tripadvisor and found this restaurant on the way back to our accommodation. Rang up and they fitted us in at 30 minutes notice. Situated in a nice village the inn was easy to find and had plenty of parking. We were cordially welcomed and sat in a room with two other tables. Didn't have a starter so the first course was a tasty steak and ale pie. Lovely pastry and the meat melted in your mouth. Had a lovely lemon tart as a pudding.

I have used Tripadvisor for a number of years and have always left glowing reviews of places I have visited but unfortunately on this occasion I feel the need to complain about the appalling attitude of what I believe to be the owner of the Bluebell. We happened to be staying in the next village with friends and whilst talking to some of the locals about food we were told that the Bluebell was the place to go but were forewarned before going that the attitude of the owner lets the place down.
