"For many years visiting Bern my family and I keep promising ourselves a visit to this restaurant, sadly our long wait was a disappointment . The food is excellent, a really good for value Day Card plus a good a la carte menu....Prices were reasonable and the desserts were great they even offer half portions on the dessert in case you have eaten too much already. BUT and it is a big but. We had booked a table for four on a Friday evening. When we arrived we entered through the main front door , the poor couple who were sat behind the door on a small round table were very fortunate not to get their meal on the floor, why they even agreed to be seated like that I will never understand. The entrance is so small and packed with the service staff giving orders the desk taking and serving the orders it was like waiting for the bus that stopped outside on its way to Bremgarten. We were shown to our table next to the window and a good view of the bridge and its passing people and yes, the food was very good, service was prompt but off handed. When we ordered our desserts we were asked to go to the dessert display, very impressive but of us stood trying to make our choices didn't do much for the comfort of the poor people trying to eat their meal sat next to the dessert buffet. The seating is terrible, old wicker chairs or benches set against the walls, no cushions. The management have crammed as many tables as possible into the place and the noise from the customers is horrendous, yes, we all like to have a chat over a nice meal but here you share your conversation with other tables around you . I would advise any prospective patrons to go and have a look at this eatery before you book a table. Sometimes you fall for the atmosphere in a place like this but I am afraid it didn't go well with my party."
